Our recent engagement with religious and traditional leaders was aimed at consolidating the progress made in positioning Kaduna as the most peaceful state in Nigeria. Notably, the state has recorded zero ethno-religious crises in the past two years—a testament to the commitment and support of our community leaders. We sincerely thank them for their tireless efforts in sustaining peace. The growing call by stakeholders for the replication of the Kaduna Peace Model across the country is a clear validation that we are on the right path. Kaduna State has become an oasis of peace and a model worth emulating nationwide.

Today, we commenced a joint enforcement operation at Boundary, Ajegunle, Apapa axis, in collaboration with Navy NNS Beecroft, the Lagos State Task Force, the Nigerian Army and other security agencies. The operation is part of our coordinated effort to restore environmental order, secure public spaces and address activities that threaten sanitation, safety and lawful use of critical corridors within Apapa and its environs. We are preparing for negotiations with our partners—both European and American—starting midweek. This includes the Ramstein meeting, discussions in Kyiv, and later, participation in the Munich Security Conference. It is crucial that we all work together to bring about real peace and effective security guarantees—the security of our people, our state, our economic relations, and, importantly, our resource resilience—not just for Ukraine, but for the entire free world. All of this is being decided now—by Ukraine and our partners. Peace is always a collective effort.

Yesterday, I visited the palace of the Onojie of Ekpoma, His Royal Highness, Zaiki Anthony Ehizojie Abumere Il, following the protest in Ekpoma that resulted in the attack of the palace and widespread destruction of property in the community. Having met with the stakestakeholders, I want to reassure the good people of Edo State that your safety remains my top priority. My administration has made strong investments in modern security equipment, intelligence gathering, and collaboration among security agencies, and these efforts are already yielding results in our fight against kidnapping, cultism, and other crimes. Let me be clear: Edo State will not be taken hostage by criminals or their sponsors. Anyone involved in kidnapping or any form of criminal activity will be tracked down and brought to justice. There will be no hiding place for them. While we respect the right of citizens to express themselves peacefully, I urge everyone to remain calm, vigilant, and law abiding, and not allow anyone to exploit genuine concerns to threaten the peace of our state. Security operations are ongoing across Edo, and my government is firmly in control of the situation. The EU remains fully engaged with global partners and the broader international community to advance the implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan. Peace, security, and dignity for both Israelis and Palestinians require political courage, sustained engagement, and collective responsibility. Our guiding framework remains UN Security Council Resolution 2803. Early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza can only be sustainable if anchored in a credible political horizon-the Two-State solution. Without that horizon, reconstruction will not deliver lasting stability.
