Overcharging inside Indian Railways trains has become a routine scam, not an exception. This video from Guwahati–SMVS (12510) shows a vendor openly charging ₹50 for a ₹40 cake. No bill, no accountability just exploiting passengers who have no alternative mid-journey. This isn’t about ₹10. Dear IRCTC, Dear Ashwini Vaishnaw, Date: 23 May 2026 Time: 5:15 AM Train: Golden Temple (12903) This is not a general coach. This is the condition of a sleeper coach. There was not even enough space to walk to the washroom. People were sleeping on the floor, near the doors, and everywhere possible. The TC came and saw everything, but did not say a single word. It looks like this has become normal for Indian Railways. I have sympathy for these passengers, but if Railways already know that general coach passengers are more, then why not add more general coaches? Why are sleeper coaches being turned into general coaches every day? For years, passengers have been raising the same issue, posting photos and videos, tagging officials, and still nothing changes. Indian Railways talks about modernization and new trains, but what about basic crowd management and passenger safety in normal trains? And please, do not ask me for the PNR. Asking for the PNR will not solve this issue. This is not one passenger’s problem. This is the daily reality of thousands of people.

Passengers’ Health at Risk at Moradabad Railway Station This incident puts a big question mark on the Railway Administration and IRCTC, which repeatedly claim to provide “world-class food services for rail passengers.” If these allegations are true, they represent a direct violation of IRCTC’s own quality standards and a blatant endangerment of public health. This is the Lichchavi Express pantry car, where police personnel and local staff forcibly occupy railway seats meant for pantry operations. The pantry manager is harassed and helpless, yet these people refuse to vacate the space and sit there as if it’s their personal property. Let’s be blunt: Does the government not pay them a salary? Why this obsession with grabbing railway seats for free? They take salary from taxpayers, misuse government railway property, and show zero respect for rules. I genuinely want an explanation for this. SCAM run by IRCTC For the same train, same class (2AC), and the same date (9th), IRCTC shows a fare of ₹3,780 with a dynamic charge of ₹521. When I move across dates and come back to the exact same journey, the fare drops to around ₹3,505 while the dynamic charge suddenly falls to ₹261. If a seat is sold with a ₹261 dynamic charge, why was a higher dynamic charge being shown moments earlier for the same availability? Dynamic pricing is supposed to reflect demand, not behave like a slot machine. Ye Can Ministry of Railways and IRCTC explain how passengers are expected to trust fare calculations when the same seat appears to attract different dynamic charges within minutes? Passengers deserve transparency, not a pricing black box. And I'm really stunned to see that for the 60-day advance reservation the price is, at one instance, shown without dynamic fare & In the other instance when I switch between previous day and next day, the prices are again inflated. This is absolutely ridiculous. Just before people tell me that I should be checking on the app, the same behavior is on the app as well. I'm saying the same behavior on the desktop website of IRCTC. This is absolutely unacceptable by all means. What on earth are you doing Ashwini Vaishnaw!?? Congress Raghav Chadha please raise these issues in the parliament. Have you noticed this trend: In the past few years, most new trains introduced by Indian Railways have been either Vande Bharat (premium, short-distance) or Amrit Bharat (non-AC, long-distance for lower fares). But where are the regular long-distance trains? Since COVID, very few new long-distance services have been introduced, and the impact is clearly visible. Getting a confirmed ticket on busy routes has become a nightmare. Instead, we see: • “Special” trains that aren't punctual • Additional halts slowing down existing services • Extensions of current trains instead of introducing new ones This isn’t about opposing Vande Bharat or Amrit Bharat, they serve their purpose well. But what about the millions of long-distance passengers? Most long-distance trains today are running over capacity, yet there’s little focus on expanding services, as a rail enthusiast, it’s hard to even recall a significant number of new long-distance trains added in recent years. It’s high time Ministry of Railways prioritizes new long-distance trains on high-demand routes.

Every school will state it clearly on its notice board, on its website, and at any store it operates that parents are free to buy uniforms, books and stationery from anywhere. There will be no coercion, no captive buying, no single-vendor diktat. Ensure this without exception. Any violation, any manipulation, will invite the toughest action available under the law. A takeover is not beyond consideration. My inspections are not a gimmick. They are enforcement in action. Reason is alleged to be that the passenger train was directed on a loop line instead of the main line. This DEMOLISHES the ridiculous theory being propagated by Rail Min Ashwini Vaishnaw since weeks that “train derailments are being done by ISIS terrorists”. An anti-collision system like KAVACH would’ve prevented this mishap. But guess what - KAVACH is operational on LESS THAN 2% of Indian Rail network despite the technology being introduced in 2016. It’s taken the Modi Govt 8 years to cover just 2% of the network. The mysterious questions are: 👉 WHY is rail safety being ignored constantly & shamelessly by the Modi Govt? 👉 Why does Ashwini Vaishnaw continue to be rail minister despite an accident happening almost every week? 👉 Why does India NOT HAVE A FULL-TIME Rail Minister? 👉 Why is Modi in a rush to launch new “high speed” trains everyday when the safety of railways is rock bottom making these trains extremely risky? An anti-collision system like KAVACH would’ve prevented this mishap. But guess what - KAVACH is operational on LESS THAN 2% of Indian Rail network despite the technology being introduced in 2016. It’s taken the Modi Govt 8 years to cover just 2% of the network. Air India, this is unacceptable and shameful. Passengers were kept on board for over two hours, then offloaded due to a so called technical issue. After that, the gate was changed more than three times, with zero clarity and zero accountability. There was absolutely no concern for passengers with connecting flights. No food. No lounge access. No hotel. No communication.What finally pushed this from incompetence to disgrace was watching an elderly passenger being treated poorly and dismissed when he clearly needed assistance. That silence and lack of empathy says everything about your operations. This is not just poor service, it is systemic failure. Either fix your processes and train your staff to treat passengers like human beings, or stop operating altogether. This is the standard and reputation you are setting for your country. Public Health Issue Alert 🚨 Travelling on Vande Bharat today (Allahabad → Delhi) and yesterday was travelling on Rajdhani (Delhi → Allahabad), I was served rotis/kachoris heated directly inside sealed plastic packaging. While at Rajdhani, I was hungry and so ate the hot Kachori almost instantly and then realised - wait, how can it be hot? Wasn’t it in a sealed packet? How could they heat the packet directly? Then this repeated today and I couldn’t stop myself from inquiring - The “Halka Phulka” roti packet clearly states: • “Store in a cool & dry place” • No mention of microwave/heating in-pack • No “microwave safe” indication Yet the packets are handed over visibly hot. Lakhs of passengers can verify this - the rotis are served warm with the plastic pack heated. The person in the train confirmed that rotis were being heated directly in the packet. Food-grade plastic is not automatically heat-safe unless certified for microwave/steam use. Heating multilayer packaging without clear instructions can potentially increase chemical migration into food - especially when done repeatedly at scale. This may be operational convenience. But food safety should never rely on shortcuts. Requesting IRCTC Ministry of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw to clarify: - Are these institutional packs certified for in-pack heating? - If so, can that certification be publicly shared? - Is this happening on all trains? 🚆 - Who has authorised this? Passenger safety deserves application of mind - not just efficiency. Just to make the passengers that IRCTC is serving hot food, how can such a careless thing be done - playing with the health of lakhs of people who are eating this food? The last thing we want is blame game buck to be passed between IRCTC FSSAI - Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution will say that it is Railways’ mistake. Railway minister will say it is the third party vendor who has been given the tender - it’s their mistake. Third party vendor will find someone at the lowest in the ladder like the gentleman in this video who admitted that they were heated in microwave, to fix the blame on - while fixing NO Accountability of the damage already done and NO Responsibility for what’s to come. Shocked and mentally stressed because of the horrible experience with Akasa Air at Abu Dhabi Airport. No proper support, no responsibility, no clear answers. My luggage issue was ignored, my return ticket problem is still unresolved, and nobody from the staff is helping me. A passenger is left stranded at an international airport while the airline acts like it simply doesn’t care. The worst part is my 13-year-old son is suffering because of this situation and still there is no humanity or urgency from the airline staff. This is not customer service — this is complete negligence and harassment of passengers who trusted your airline with their travel and safety.
