Pac-Man • Atari 2600 • 1982

I'm literally 3 years old watching my old man fire this up and I still remember thinking... "Well, this ain't right."

it was pretty dang good on Atari 400/800 though.. at least he would point up and down

Was the only way to play Pacman at home. No trip to the arcade, no begging parents for quarters. We didn't expect arcade perfection at home, that's why we still went to arcades.

Atari 2600 Ms. Pac-Man is everything Pac-Man should’ve been, if not rushed. No wonder Atari sued Commodore for “Jelly Monsters” on the VIC-20 (Commodore only had the official rights to produce Pac-Man in Japan and so rebadged it elsewhere)

Didn’t like it. Looked very different from the arcade game.

Pac-Man Fever!

This was okay at the time but the flicker and maze layout compared to the arcade or ports that came out a year later on better hardware, but if you only had 2600 this is what you to play on.

2nd most unliked video game in my book...so bad, and i played it non stop.

One of my most disappointed moments as a young tot. 😂. This was horrible. I was so pumped when I saw it was coming out. But man was this crap!!!

The og arcade version was way harder

I remember going to Pizza Hut and playing this, it even had Galaga as a option

tbf most didn't notice and waited for The Crying Game to come out before going outside

After playing it at a friend’s house I never bothered with it and stuck with Activision titles for the most part on the 2600.

it was super weird hearing sounds from this game in superman III

A few years later my friend David bought an Atari 5200,i still remember walking into his room & seeing Pac-Man 5200. Oh My God. That was next gen for me at 14 years old. The controllers were bad though,but we played that game for years. Amazing.

Never liked it, even in 1982. Jungle hunt and pitfall were more my thing.

I had this, but Ms.Pacman for the 2600 was much better. I sat crossed-legged on the brown carpet for so many hours that I couldn’t feel my legs when I tried to stand up!
