Watters: You know what uses more water than [Data Centers]? Golf courses. And everybody hates golf courses. We suck at golf. Men don't do well there.

🚨 Even 60 Minutes admits it: Data centers don’t use nearly as much water as critics would have you believe. CBS News found that golf courses nationwide use more than twice as much water as data centers.

Bill Maher on Data Centers: “To put it in perspective… golf uses WAY MORE [water than data centers]. Golf and f*cking raising… almonds is the thing we raise here. Like almonds and golf, I’m against both of them.” “I’m not against almonds I’m against raising them where we don’t have water to do it. And it’s like 7 TIMES the amount of water is being used on golf courses [than data centers].” “So maybe the issue itself is water.”

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry on data centers: "Unfortunately, I don't think the American people are digesting all of the information. I mean, look, nothing against golfers out there, but golf courses use 40 times more water than data centers ... we welcome them"

“Facts don’t really matter for the de-growth mob.” — The Washington Post’s James Hohmann The anti–data center hysteria around water was built on a bogus stat about a data center’s water consumption in Chile that was off by a factor of 1,000. All U.S. data centers use less than 0.5% of America’s freshwater. The war on data centers is built on junk math and is funded by China and foreign billionaires!

This is actually refreshing… NVIDIA CEO says water consumption concerns re: Data Centers are now a myth.. they use less water than the average swimming pool over the course of a year he says— energy will be put back into the electrical grid What was refreshing was when discussed his regrets on the the lack of early communication with communities and towns— stating that they should be built much further away… and “we should still be doing it more nicely.” I can respect that.

AI can make our lives better—but not if data centers waste our water, increase our electricity bills and take our tax dollars. Use less water. Provide your own energy. Stop demanding taxpayer subsidies. Level with the American people about what AI means.

There’s a data center derangement syndrome catching on right now. It’s fair to have concerns, but the fact 50% opposed a nuclear power plant versus 75% who opposed data centers shows something else is going on. There are natural concerns (some premised on misinformation like the fact that golf courses consume 20–30× more water than data centers), and some of it is being amplified by China. Full clip for all the details.

There’s plenty to debate on data centers… But the data moratoriums taking over the country are driven by politics, not facts. The most advanced data centers use zero water and continue to become more energy efficient. And when data centers are banned… communities walk away from lower taxes, funded schools, and loads of good paying jobs. That's the trade off…

The cost of this special election is less than Trump’s golf trips this year. It’s less than the new golden ballroom he’s building at the White House. It’s less than .1% of the new budget he gave ICE. There should be no price we are unwilling to pay to defend Democracy.

Less than 85,000 people lived in Ceuta. In less than 24 hours, that number rose to over 130,000. This is an invasion.

The economic cost Pakistan has incurred so far due to India 🇮🇳 stopping the flow of water is no less than $2 billion. India is completing four more major dams within a year, which would be nothing less than a death sentence for us. Farmers in Punjab use Chenab River water, and Punjab is the country’s breadbasket. Yet the Punjab government’s response has been almost nonexistent. — Water expert Rashid Abbasi

Why we shouldn’t use water on a grease fire Water is denser than oil, sinks right to the bottom, instantaneously boils, going from liquid to gas in less than a second water vapor molecules leave the pan quickly taking the grease/fire outwards
