Today thousands surrounded Parliament demanding real action over Gaza. While ordinary people do everything they can to stop the Genocide, Government Ministers refuse to. We don't need yet more empty words. We need widespread sanctions on Israel and an end to all arms sales.

Pro-Palestine activists are marching in London to protest against Israel’s war on Gaza, its blockade of aid to the enclave and policy of forced starvation, as well as its recent announcement that it will intensify its military assault and Israel’s security cabinet’s approval of a plan to occupy the Gaza Strip. Demonstrators are calling on the UK government to impose a full military embargo on Israel, end all military cooperation, suspend trade, and take concrete action to stop the war on Gaza.

One year ago today we sent this message to the then UK Government. The Government of Israel has since turned Gaza into a living hell for children – while our leaders have failed to stop it. More than 14,100 Palestinian children have been killed and at least 20,000 are missing. Right now in northern Gaza, Palestinian children are trapped by Israeli forces and are being bombed, starved, and detained. The UN has warned that the Palestinian population is facing potential destruction. The new UK Government remains complicit, refusing to suspend all arms sales – despite the mounting evidence of violations of international humanitarian law. How many more images of death and total destruction will it take for Ministers to say 'enough'? We demand the UK Government uses its power and influence to secure an immediate, definitive ceasefire, and suspend all arms sales to the Government of Israel.

Nothing says REGRESSION more than this. The Victorians built Hammersmith Bridge for £11 million in today’s money. In 2019, it was SHUT. Seven years on, the Government is adamant that it’s not possible to even REPAIR it. No ambulances, no buses, no vans, no taxis can cross. NOTHING. This is now an HOURLY event in Gaza. Trump talks a big game, but has done absolutely NOTHING to stop this slaughter. And he could, but as yet doesn’t have the spine or the balls to do what’s right. Over the past few days, there have been more than thirty conversations and consultations with partners. Different parts of the world, different perspectives, but shared positions. This war must be ended. Pressure must be exerted on Russia for the sake of a just peace. Ukraine’s and our partners’ experience must be used to prevent deception by Russia. At present, there is no sign that the Russians are preparing to end the war. Our coordinated efforts and joint actions – of Ukraine, the United States, Europe, and all countries that seek peace – can definitely compel Russia to make peace. I thank everyone who is helping.

I see many Tegaru rightfully pushing for peace and urging Tigrayan leadership not to go to war. This is completely understandable our people have endured unimaginable pain and suffering over the past few years. I fully support this campaign for peace. But what’s deeply frustrating is that this pressure seems entirely one-sided. While our community pleads for peace, the Ethiopian government is actively mobilizing its army and moving heavy military equipment toward Tigray. And yet, I don’t see the same energy or accountability being demanded from that side. The truth is, no matter how hard we push our leadership for peace, if the federal government decides to launch another invasion, there’s little we can do to stop it. The public on that side won’t resist they’ll likely support and even cheer it on. That’s exactly what happened on November 4: Tigrayans were calling for peace while being persecuted daily, and still, the war was unleashed upon us. Peace cannot be achieved through one-sided restraint. Both sides must be held accountable. Pushing only Tigray to stand down while ignoring federal aggression does not prevent war it enables it
