It’s really cool that we got a glimpse of what Clone Trooper training was like on Kamino in the Republic Commando game from 2005. We’d get a further exploration of this in the 2008 Clone Wars series, but you literally get a first person view of what life was like for a clone from creation to deployment on Geonosis. Such an incredible experience. One of the best Star Wars games ever.

It’s really amazing that the very first episode of The Clone Wars still has one of the best moments from the entire series IMO. Yoda telling his Clone Troopers to remove their helmets to let them know that although they may look the same, they are all different people, is honestly such a great scene. What a phenomenal way to immediately further develop and add more layers to The Republic’s army from The Prequels.

Still think it’s awesome that the 2003 Clone Wars micro-series showed us The Battle of Coruscant from Revenge of the Sith in an entirely different perspective. Seeing Jedi Master Saesee Tinn lead an army of Clone Troopers to board a Separatist ship in space was something truly epic.

I really love how the last time that Anakin and Obi-Wan have a lightsaber duel with Dooku, they also discover that he was the man named Tyranus that recruited Jango Fett to be cloned The Republic’s army. Not only is this confrontation the closest they’ve all been in terms of skill, but it also just goes to show how deeply manipulated both sides of The Clone Wars were. Brilliant foreshadowing for the events of Revenge of the Sith.

One of the smartest details from the Revenge of the Sith novelisation is how Obi-Wan and Anakin deceive Count Dooku. Knowing they had failed on Geonosis, they open the duel with basic attacks from Ataru and Shien, forms that Dooku’s Makashi easily dismantles. This convinces Dooku that he’s facing the same Jedi he defeated three years earlier. Then they switch. Obi-Wan returns to his impenetrable Soresu, while Anakin unleashes the refined Djem So he mastered during the Clone Wars. Dooku suddenly realizes the opening exchange was a ruse and that Anakin had surpassed power levels he thought were possible.

The scene where Ahsoka makes the difficult decision to leave the Jedi Order after being offered her role back is still one of the most emotional scenes to come from The Clone Wars. I’ll never forget watching this episode live and just sitting in front of the TV in silence afterwards. Incredible writing.

This moment from the second season of The Bad Batch between Commander Cody and Crosshair has to be one of my favorite Star Wars scenes in recent years, and that’s even beyond just animation. In less than a minute, Cody emotionally conveys one of the greatest tragedies to come from The Clone Wars: that in the end, Palpatine made sure that the Clone Army were capable of becoming just as robotic as the Battle Droids they spent years fighting against.

I’ve always appreciated how The Clone Wars provided some brief, visual insight into how Sith actually train their apprentices, as well as how they essentially warp the views and teachings of The Jedi. Dooku’s training with Savage in this moment is the complete antithesis of how Yoda trains Luke to lift rocks on Dagobah years later.

A common criticism of the ST is the choreography. But it actually fits the timeline. These characters were trained in the wild, decades after the fall of the Jedi Order. The 7 forms fell out of practice. Even LUKE didn't learn them from Yoda, he only had books later. So Ben Solo wouldn't have been trained in them either. There is no reason that these characters should fight like Prequel Jedi, and the ST duels are more similar to the OT duels, because they take place after the OT.

Really like this moment from The Clone Wars where Palpatine examines the Zillo Beast on Coruscant after it was discovered on Malastare. A rare glimpse of Darth Sidious breaking through his facade, and is incredibly ironic how Palpatine says "nothing is indestructable," yet would eventually feel as if The Empire was exactly that. The most intimidating monster in this scene isn't the Zillo Beast, but rather the person right in front of us. So glad that this particular arc was eventually expanded

An extremely powerful moment that truly shows why the politics of the Prequel Trilogy that were heavily criticized at the time always actually mattered. Star Wars is, and has always been, political. A rare glimpse of Darth Sidious operating outside of the shadows, but also a great reminder that the biggest threat to Palpatine’s plan to seize control the galaxy was never The Jedi, but rather the actual democratic process itself. Senators like Bail and Padmé being so outspoken probably pushed Palpatine’s plan back more times than we actually realize.
