Or start by changing the DNS server from 8.8.8.8 to something else like 9.9.9.9 (Quad9) no point in removing it all, if the main part still goes through googles servers

i use brave and its awesome, but i dont see much difference in proton email so im still sticking with gmail.

The fact is if you ever listened to you have no privacy but at least you don't have to willingly give it to them. You can make them work for it.

Regular people won't do it, it's too technical and there are too many inconveniences that will get in the way. I've been there a few years ago, and well, I gave up on that for conveniences and more free time ("things just work"). I've got to the point where it feels hard to give up on google wallet while in the past I had 0 google apps😭 and getting it to work on custom is hacky and temporary, needs regular patches for each google's update (last time I've checked anyways)
