Peppermill has a digital marquee — and anywhere else this would probably be a pretty impressive sign. But this is the LAS VEGAS STRIP. 😂 They replaced the old-school neon marquee in 2018, and while the LED version is functional, it misses what made the original special. Peppermill already...

Hard Rock Las Vegas is bringing something back the Strip almost never does: balcony suites. That’s a BIG deal. Balconies are extremely rare in Vegas hotels — not by accident. Most resorts avoid them due to liability, safety concerns, and design economics. The one major exception has been The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas — and there’s a reason for that. It was originally built as a condo project before the 2008 crash killed that model. The units were never sold, it became a hotel — but the balconies stayed. Vegas actually tried this twice. One became Cosmo — a hit with terraces. The other was The Harmon — a condo tower at CityCenter that never even opened due to structural defects… and had to be demolished. After that (and the financial crash), developers moved away from condo-style builds entirely. Outside of Cosmo? Very limited inventory: • A few specialty suites at Bellagio • Some off-Strip or legacy properties • Almost nothing mainstream on the Strip That’s why Cosmo balconies became such a signature differentiator. Now Hard Rock is stepping into that lane. If they execute this right, these won’t just be rooms — they’ll be premium inventory with real pricing power. Bottom line: Balconies aren’t normal here. #vegas

VEGAS WANTS TO KNOW WHERE EVERYBODY WENT. I HAVE THE RECEIPT FROM MY LAST BUFFET. Downtown Las Vegas is looking a little lonely. The numbers back it up. Visitation was down 4.3% in August. Passengers through Harry Reid down 9%. Downtown gaming win down 3%. They're cutting room rates and the rooms still aren't filling. And somewhere in a corporate office on the Strip, a man in a $4,000 suit is asking how this could possibly happen. Sir. Let me help. Vegas used to be the deal. Sinatra, Dean and Sammy at the Sands. A 99-cent shrimp cocktail downtown at the Golden Gate. Cheap rooms, cheap buffets, loose slots, free drinks if you sat down at a table. They knew you'd lose money at the tables, so they made everything else feel like a steal. That was the whole business model. And it worked for fifty years. Then the MBAs showed up. (I'm allowed to say that. I have one.) Room rates went up. Then they added a resort fee. Fifty bucks a night for a pool you won't use and Wi-Fi that drops every time you open your laptop. Parking that used to be free? Now it's not. Blackjack used to pay 3:2. Now a lot of tables pay 6:5, which is a polite way of saying they shaved your winnings and hoped you wouldn't do the math. And the buffet. The buffet used to be the cheapest meal in America. Now the fancy ones on the Strip run close to $90 a person on a weekend, and the crab legs still taste like the freezer. Who thought that money train would run forever? You squeezed the golden goose until it filed for divorce. Vegas casino bosses have pulled off something I didn't think was possible. They made McDonald's leadership look like value heroes. At least the Big Mac doesn't come with a resort fee. I still end up in Vegas once a year for work. I didn't say I like it. I hate the room rates. I don't eat on the Strip. Get in an Uber, go to Spring Mountain Road, and eat your way through Chinatown. Some of the best Asian food in the country is sitting in strip malls a mile from the casinos, at a third of the price. The locals know. Now you do too. And the desert is still a desert. It's hot, it's dry, my hair hates it, and the whole place still looks like a showgirl's jewelry box exploded. There's exactly one thing on the Strip I'd fight you for. The Peppermill. Neon, mirrors, velvet booths, plates the size of hubcaps and a drink so big it needs two straws and a designated driver. I go every single year. I order too much, I share it with my coworkers or my customers, and we pass that giant drink around like it's 1978. That's my Vegas. You can keep the rest of it. 🦋

This is something else. A restaurant that would charge extra for: Silverware insurance? Booth fee? Straws? Table cleaning fee? I'm surprised they didn't add a fee for printing the flippin' receipt! And then they have the audacity to add the tip in the bill as well and leave room for another tip on top of that! This is clearly a prank! It has to be! But if it wasn't, what would your reaction be to seeing a bill like this come to your table? 😏😬

I know you are hungry and for this reason it may be difficult to wait longer, but we have to take the time to clean the oven before putting in the first pizza. Once you've built your fire and have it roaring hot, you could clean the cooking surface. The most popular method would be a quick wipe down with a wet cloth wrapped around a peel or the pizza shovel that you probably already have on hand.

🇺🇸VEGAS SPHERE GOES FULL F1 MODE The MSG Sphere in Las Vegas is not just a concert hall. It is a 366-foot LED ball that can turn into anything, including a giant spinning F1 tire. The Sphere, located near the Venetian Resort, doubles as a performance venue and a digital art installation. With 580,000 square feet of LED panels wrapping the exterior, it blasts out animations, landscapes, faces, and ads that can be seen for miles. For the Formula 1 Grand Prix, it rolled out jaw-dropping visuals that made it look like Vegas had its own colossal race car wheel. Because in Vegas, billboards are never big enough. When I first joined Rayadas I didnt know what it will mean for me as a player! I knew it would be a place I could compete for titles, but I never knew how the passion for this institution would change me as a player. Over the years I learned what it meant to put on this jersey! The people in this city and my team taught me. I feel exactly what the people feel! The love and passion is indescribable, and when you step onto that field you feel it. The people in the stadium make you feel it, and it’s honestly one of the best feelings in this world! That’s why we fight until the very end, because we have a responsibility to represent everything this institution stands for!🙏🏾 #creersiemprecreer

VEGAS ISN’T DEAD. IT’S BREAKING UP WITH THE GRISWOLDS. 🎰 Three resort CEOs say they’re prepared to keep high-end room rates up—even if that means fewer occupied rooms. That’s the distinction I’ve been talking about: filling every room isn’t the same as protecting the experience. When COVID hit, Vegas discounted rooms to bring people back. That part is documented. From what I saw living here, parts of the Strip started feeling less like an adult Disneyland and more like a bargain-basement free-for-all. Here’s the problem: you can discount a room overnight. It takes years to undo a bargain-basement reputation. My uncle worked directly for Sheldon Adelson. He told me Sheldon’s approach at the Venetian in 1999 was straightforward: raise table minimums to $10, establish a dress code, and actually enforce it. The lesson wasn’t simply “charge more.” It was decide what experience you’re selling—and protect it. People paying for luxury aren’t just buying a bed. They’re buying atmosphere, service, and standards. They don’t want chaos in the lobby. And when you market yourself as the cheapest option long enough, “cheap” becomes the expectation—not a temporary promotion. My read? This is more of the Strip deciding it would rather compete for higher-spending guests than win every bargain-hunting vacation search. That doesn’t make every price increase smart. And it certainly doesn’t make every empty room intentional. But “Vegas costs more than I want to spend” and “Vegas is dead” are two very different statements. As I said before: Vegas didn’t die. Vegas reset. The Griswolds may still want the old deal. These resorts appear willing to let that deal—and some of that business—go. Smart reset, or a dangerous bet on too few big spenders? 👇

One of my favorite details of Sonner: By default the toast disappears after 4 seconds unless you hover over it. But what if a toast is triggered and the user switches to a different tab? 4 seconds would pass and the toast would never be seen. That’s why there’s a `useIsDocumentHidden` hook that checks if the document (tab) is hidden, and if so, it will pause the timer. This can be done with the "visibilitychange" event listener on the document. A small detail that improves the experience.

Your body fat is a tank with a tap on it, and the tap narrows as the tank empties. - Plenty of fat: your body covers almost any deficit you ask it to - Getting leaner: it covers less each day - Properly lean: it covers very little, and the rest comes off the plate Which is why the first stone comes off while you barely notice, and the last one takes everything you have. So when you are lean, the shortfall has to arrive as food. And the industry hands you the wrong bag. Push the protein. Two hundred grams. Two fifty. Chicken breast on a kitchen scale. Past what you build with, protein is a fuel your liver has to strip the nitrogen off before you can use a calorie of it, and that machinery has a speed limit. So the extra hundred grams builds nothing and lifts nothing. Protein is what you build with. Fat and carbohydrate are what you lift with. Cut them both to make room for another shake and you have removed the thing that was moving the weight. Fat wins that choice. Twice the energy per gram. Leaves insulin alone, so the fat you are burning is not told to stay put every three hours. Keeps you full. And it is the same fuel your own stores are already releasing. Eat the fat. It is the one thing on the plate that matters more the leaner you get, and the first thing they told you to cut.

This has to be one of the most useful features of any modern car. A 💯 must have. Quality of cameras in G9 are insane and the way they managed to move image and make a precise transparency effect is absolute gold. It helps to navigate tiny spaces and lines with precision 🔥

He Put a Plastic Drum on Bricks! 😳🔥 What looked like a simple setup turned into a surprisingly clever DIY idea. With just a few bricks and a plastic drum, he created something practical without spending a fortune. Sometimes, creativity is simply about seeing a different use for the things you already have. 🧠👏 The way he arranged everything so simply is what makes this idea so interesting. No complicated tools, no expensive materials—just a little imagination and careful planning. This is a perfect reminder that you don’t always need expensive equipment to create something useful. Sometimes, the simplest ideas can be the most impressive. 😮🔥 Would you try this DIY idea at home? 👀👇

An 18-month-old tiger (a sub-adult) is currently being reintroduced into the wild for the second time. It was previously brought back in because it was unable to hunt and would have starved to death. The collar allows it to be identified and tracked. A strong bond remains with the volunteer who raised it from a young age, and who hopes that this attempt at reintroduction will succeed.

I don’t expect much from you. I’m simply asking you to replace these Muslim people with a European Christian in your imagination and imagine a Christian being told by a Muslim: “Why have you come to England, a Christian country?” If that had happened, the entire global media would be condemning it right now. They would be interviewing the Muslim man’s family. The Pope and senior bishops would be issuing statements of condemnation. There would be no hesitation in calling it out for what it is. Yet this is one of the most blatantly racist videos circulating and because the man being targeted is called Tommy, there is silence. This double standard is shameful. Media outlets that are too cowardly to tell the truth for fear of losing credibility should remember this: one day, the same intolerance will turn on them and when it does, there will be no one left to defend them.

This is Melody Felicano Johnson. She was adding bleach to her husband, Roby Johnson's coffee in 2003. After taking it for a while and noticing a consistent strange taste, Roby tested the coffee with pool strip and discovered that it has elevated chlorine level. They set hidden camera up in the kitchen and this is part of what was recorded.

If barbecue had a cathedral, this would be it. The Salt Lick in Driftwood, Texas is home to one of the most iconic open-fire barbecue pits on Earth. Since 1967, brisket, ribs, and sausage have been slow-cooked over live flames in a setting that feels more like Texas history than a restaurant. Some people chase five-star restaurants. I'll take a seat next to an open pit full of smoke, fire, and barbecue. The best barbecue in the world is waiting in Driftwood, Texas. Would you make the trip? 🔥🥩🤠

Imagine pulling up to the dog park and realizing one of the “dogs” playing out there is actually a coyote. That’s the situation here, and it’s a coin flip on how it goes: do you wait and see if it stays friendly, or step in and scare it off before things turn? These happened to be big dogs, so the coyote had zero interest in escalating anything. Swap that for a small or miniature dog and this story reads completely differently, possibly with a tragic ending instead of a funny clip. Wild animals blending into a dog park like this should be treated as a real risk, not a photo op. Would you have waited it out, or scared it off the second you realized?

Zoox (owned by Amazon) is now testing Robotaxi rides to and from the Las Vegas International Airport. For employees only initially, but will expand to the public in the relatively near future. I'm curious to see what airport rides are like in this vehicle, because when I rode in it last September, I didn't feel the cabin would be good for luggage. There isn't a dedicated storage area like Tesla and Waymo have, which is why I felt the vehicle would be best for passenger only rides, but I guess if the luggage is small it'll be fine.

🚨 THIS MAN SPOTTED A TESLA CYBERCAB IN THE WILD - AND NOTICED SOMETHING VERY UNUSUAL ABOUT IT While filming the Cybercab up close, he points out a detail most people would miss. The charging port is positioned low on the rear, tucked into the body with a sealed protective cap - not what you’d normally expect to see on a Tesla. The car is engineered for nonstop driverless robotaxi operation. So will the production vehicle be able to charge itself wirelessly?
