Operational Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are currently located in Russia (the Akademik Lomonosov floating plant in Pevek) and China (the HTR-PM pebble-bed reactor), with test units also in Japan. Other nations like Canada, the US, and the UK are actively building or planning sites, while Australia has no operational or licensed SMRs.

Just ONE nuclear power station would take decades! The chances of a pro nuclear power government, with a pro nuclear senate, is as remote as Trump admitting he lost the 2020 election. Then comes the problem we have practically zero nuclear expertise to start the process. Finding the people with the knowledge to oversee such a project would take years and massive amounts of taxpayers money. Solar power is here now. Nuclear is a fantasy that would take decades….thats if ever it happened.

More Science Fiction to convince the uninformed that they're right up to date. SMRs were bandied about in the dismal attempt to denigrate the government's renewables commitment before the last election. (they didn't exist then. they don't exist now.)

SMRs are arguably more expensive than full sized nuclear reactors. SMRs still require the very same regulatory oversight as the big ones. That requires staffing and inspectors. It's sci-fi talk from Phil. Wishful thinking. In the 1950s they were proposing nuclear powered cars.

A little like SpaceX's returning rockets did not exist only a few years ago. SMR's are perfectly suited to provide the highly reliable (five 9s, 99.999%) power that the datacentres need. SMRs are already here, and the pace will only accelerate.
