I’ve never had a North Indian hiring manager, but the ones from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh always seemed to favor folks from their own state. The only truly diverse teams I’ve seen thrive were led by managers from Karnataka. Like it or not, Bengaluru is one of the most diverse places in India and a big part of that is thanks to the easygoing, unbiased nature that Kannadigas originally possessed. I know the current political climate makes this a hard pill to swallow, but hey, facts are facts.
