Intel 12 has mapped the #PickettFire at 3,235 acres and it is now 7 percent contained. That 1,102 acres of growth from when it was last mapped on Thursday night can be attributed to the fire backing to strategic fuel breaks and historical control lines. There has been no new threat to structures on Friday. Both air and ground resources continue to make an aggressive and effective attack on this fire and progress is being made on its containment.

Views from the 24 Fire outside Fort Carson, now over 1,126 acres. The fire is making a run this afternoon. “Highway 115 remains clear and the fire made a significant run to the east and north. Air resources are working along the west flank of the fire per incident command. High winds and hot, dry temperatures have increased the fire’s activity, with the fire now standing at approximately 1,126 acres and 0% containment. #UPDATE: CSFD Fire Investigators responded on Monday to the Marksheffel Rd. Fire and have determined that the cause of this fire was accidental likely due to dragging chains from a vehicle. As of Monday, March 11th at 1:30 pm the fire is at 640 acres with 90% containment. One CSFD brush truck will remain at the fire scene to patrol for hotspots. Fire crews are confident that the containment line will hold. The CSFD would like to extend its gratitude to the regional agencies who quickly responded to assist with fighting this fire and thank them for their continued partnership. 🎥: CSFD Special Operations Unit Drone
