Crews are working on the North edge to keep the fire from flanking around the Kane Fire burn scar from 2023. 🎥: At 6:34 p.m., Omaha Fire was called to 7524 Poppleton Plaza for a row of garages that were on fire. Crews had a large smoke header while approaching the scene. Firefighters went to work and worked to knock down the fire. No immediate injuries were reported. Fire investigators will be on scene to determine the cause.

The fire remains static in its original footprint with no anticipated growth. Today, firefighters continue patrolling and reinforcing containment lines as well as addressing deep seated smoldering brush piles well inside the perimeter. Resources from VCFD and Ventura City Fire include Type 3 and Type 6 engines, a hand crew, water tender and one of our UAS / Drone pilots. Firefighters will remain on scene until this fire is fully contained. An IR flight of the fire by one of our UAS / Drone pilots shows the pockets of heat firefighters are working to address. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

That is when flames blow through as Charlotte firefighters cut into the roof during vertical ventilation at a house fire this morning on the 8000 block of Tremaine Court. The call came in at 12:51 a.m. during last night’s severe storm. Firefighters arrived with visible fire along the roofline and controlled the fire in 40 minutes. No injuries were reported. This was one of three lightning-related house fires Charlotte Fire responded to in less than an hour. At 12:08 a.m., crews responded to the 1300 block of Sugar Hollow Drive and controlled the fire in 50 minutes. At 12:30 a.m., firefighters responded to the 4900 block of Abendego Road and controlled the fire in 30 minutes. Red Cross was contacted to assist. No injuries were reported at any of the three fires. Three lightning strikes. Three house fires. One severe storm. One busy night for Charlotte Fire.

One individual said they believed a skid plate off a Toyota Tacoma was hurled and hit their fire apparatus. The shear size and velocity of this vortex that came through the fire area is staggering. This is Mother Nature at her most unpredictable and awe inspiring state. All while wildfire is ripping across the landscape. The fire has grown to 11,044 acres and firefighters have been able to reach 7% containment after regrouping post wind event. Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 4 and firefighters have been able to punch in line and complete strategic firing operations to gain some ground on containment. Around 10:30 Thursday night, the FDNY responded to a 5-alarm fire at 855 Prospect Avenue in the Bronx. Around 200 firefighters and EMS personnel responded. There were no serious injuries. “Units arrived in less than four minutes. We found fire at a commercial establishment and it was extending to the adjacent stores. We also had fire on the roof of the six-story multiple dwelling and fire extended to the second floor. Those were quickly contained. The multiple dwelling was entirely evacuated, said Assistant Chief Kevin Brennan. FDNY Fire Marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.
