Porsche will reportedly introduce a “Virtual Transmission” option in its 2027 Taycan EV lineup. The system will include paddle shifters that simulate shifting—similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N’s e-shift feature (see video by Edmunds). How do you feel about EVs having fake gear shifts?

Here's what the new fake gear shifting sounds and looks like in the 2027 Porsche Taycan. It's called "E-Shift". Porsche: "Drivers can switch between a total of eight simulated gears using paddles on the GT Sport steering wheel. The gear changes are modeled to feel authentic with noticeable gear shift feel, gear-specific drag torque – comparable to the engine braking behavior of a combustion-engined car – and a virtual rev limiter. At the same time, the interior and exterior sound of the Porsche Electric Sport Sound adapts to the respective driving situation depending on the load and wheel speed. The sound tuning varies across the various Taycan derivatives. The system is supplemented by a virtual rev counter and a gear indicator with shift light in the instrument cluster."

The new Mercedes CLA 45 AMG EV uses audio recordings from the previous gas version of the CLA 45 AMG to simulate fake gear shifts and engine sounds. Through speakers, the car will crackle, pop, and produce overrun sounds. Seat actuators also vibrate to make you feel like you are in a gas car lol. I think it’s a little too much 😂

Always wonder if in the future 50% of vehicles on roads become EVs, how will everyone charge them? Even today, charging just 5–7 EVs at one place becomes a hassle. Imagine when half the traffic is electric, just 1-2 charging stations everywhere, long queues, and people waiting hours just to charge their cars. Even at hotels, it could feel like you need to stay an extra day just waiting for your EV to get charged after a lineup!! 🤔

Legacy automakers are in a very precarious position right now. They haven't yet figured out how to make compelling EVs profitably, so now many of them are starting to fall back on the gas products that do make them money, but this will put them even further behind in the future, which also means they will likely underinvest in self-driving capabilities and the best product for that (EVs). Ford is working on its "Universal EV Platform" designed to reduce costs, with the first vehicle with that aiming for a 2027 release, but it remains to be seen whether that plan will live up to its promise. I think we’re going to see a lot of consolidation across the legacy auto industry over the next few years. Many of these companies will struggle to catch up in self-driving because they spent years dragging their feet. At this point, self-driving is largely a software problem, and software is where most legacy automakers are weakest. Many still struggle with basic in-car UI and software updates, let alone building and iterating on full self-driving systems at scale (pretty much non-existent for them).

This is a crime. The family court system sucks. It will cost you $40,000 to get to see your kids going through the family court system And if she skips town with the kids, you’re screwed. Because then you’re gonna have to follow her back up and leave. And go through the system and that new jurisdiction. And then, if she skipped town again, you’re gonna have to follow her there to see your kid to just be a father But the new man in her life? He gets to see your kids every day. The court will make you go through complete in total. Hell just to be a father in this country while the new man doesn’t have to do anything. You will have to jump through so many hoops and go through so much bullshit that it will have to drive you crazy Just to be a father in America This is total bullshit. That’s why many dads just give up. They fight for a little while and they give up. That’ll make you feel like you’re gonna snap the way you’re treated by everyone. Screw the family court🇺🇸

In these last moments, we have a responsibility to face the reality of what is happening in the spiritual realm and that can be heavy sometimes. It’s isolating having spiritual eyes- having to partake in a world that you are detached from. A world that you see the truth of. A world that doesn’t see what you do. And it’s ok to talk about it. But some in the church are avoiding this. Some are sticking their heads in the sand and ignoring the fact that we are even in the end times… to a point where when people talk about the heaviness, they feel like we’re saying we have given up. Church, let’s please start answering this call to be REAL. To face the reality of what is happening-of the times we are in. Yes there is a heaviness that comes with that, but having eyes to see will always motivate us to share Jesus even more because we know we are at the end.
