This promo for The Clone Wars teasing the return of Darth Maul is still one of the best pieces of Star Wars marketing ever IMO. I'll never forget seeing this for the first time in 2012 with my friends when The Phantom Menace was re-released in theaters. Still gives me goosebumps all these years later.

To promote the upcoming Clone Wars animated series in 2008, Cartoon Network aired a 30 second bumper of just audio of Clone Troopers and Battle Droids fighting each other, with very little actual footage shown. Honestly super eerie, yet also (probably unintentionally) is a perfect homage to A New Hope’s mysterious teaser from 1977.

It’s really cool that we got a glimpse of what Clone Trooper training was like on Kamino in the Republic Commando game from 2005. We’d get a further exploration of this in the 2008 Clone Wars series, but you literally get a first person view of what life was like for a clone from creation to deployment on Geonosis. Such an incredible experience. One of the best Star Wars games ever.

Ahsoka ultimately deciding to leave the Jedi Order in this episode of The Clone Wars is legitimately one of the most emotional moments in any Star Wars project IMO. Still can’t watch it without feeling deeply sad, and was absolutely heartbreaking to watch live when this episode first aired on Cartoon Network back in 2013.

Watching Vader’s silhouette walk away from Ahsoka’s crashed Venator through the reflection of a Clone Trooper’s helmet says more than any dialogue ever could. Exceptional storytelling. I seriously can’t imagine this series ending any other way.

The final minute of The Clone Wars is still easily some of the greatest Star Wars ever.
