Swing ON PLANE if you want more Straight Shots Josh had more planes than Heathrow! So, we simplified his take away with the help of an alignment stick as feedback How you start the swing will influence the rest: Josh would whip it inside and then up high making it very difficult to pivot the body well and deliver the club from a good place. We got Josh to stop at waist height as a check point and then feel a good pivot to the top where his arms were a little flatter. The result in the downswing was a much shallower approach leading to better turf interation and a more predictable straighter ball flight. #golf #golftips

With the announcement of Tiger Woods’ 7th back operation, I have to ask — is the modern golf swing setting up an entire generation of golfers for injury? That style with the feet planted, the vertical jump, and steep shoulders puts tremendous strain on the lower back. I know, because years ago I tried to “drop it under” like the modern pros — and it nearly ended my game. That injury led me back to the Classic Golf Swing — the one I was taught as a kid, the one that’s stood the test of time. It’s easier on my back, more natural on the body, and I can still hit the ball long and straight. Karol tends to only rotate the body from the top rather than have a little lateral shift. This results in the shaft moving forward above plane and leads to inconsistent strikes. We focused on allowing the lower body to move towards the target in transition and feeling the arms fall into the space in the downswing. A little feedback from the alignment sticks when practicing helped to reinforce that feeling. #golfdrill

He hits the longest home runs without coming off the ball. How to correct it: Shoulder in, chin and face in on the ball and swing the bat over your front shoulder. Then hold the finish (Arraez swing and finish drill he did in the video) It's worked WONDERS for hitters I've used it with when they need it.

So why is it that most players can't seem to stop coming over the top? They'll steepen the club to start the downswing, and lose tons of distance and consistency. Most of this comes from confusion of exactly what you should be doing with your hands and arms to shallow the club. It can be hard to know for sure, since you can't even see the club at the top of the swing. I am going to solve that problem with a very simple set of drills.
