In a swift response to the unfortunate acts of political violence witnessed on the eve of the Osun State Governorship election, I conducted an on-the-spot assessment and inspection of the residences of several Accord leaders whose homes were attacked and heavily vandalized. The inspection covered affected residences across Ikire and Ikoyi, including the homes of Hon. Ambali Taye Kondo in Ikoyi, Hon. Owodunni Abiodun (Wocco), and Hon. Taofeeq Ajagun (Ultimate) in Ikoyi. I also visited the residence of Akinola Paul (Halleluyah) at Oke Awo, Ikire; the residence of Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Festus Adeyemo; Alhaji Lateef at Moro, Ikire; and Hon. Nureni Owoade in the Amukuku area of Ikire. During the visit, I personally assessed the extent of the damage and expressed my heartfelt sympathy to the affected leaders, their families, and supporters. I strongly condemned the attacks as unwarranted, cowardly, and completely unacceptable in a democratic society. Political differences should never be allowed to degenerate into violence, destruction, intimidation, or attacks on the homes and properties of fellow citizens. Democracy is built on tolerance, dialogue, respect for differing opinions, and the freedom of every citizen to support the political party or candidate of their choice. I commended the affected leaders for their doggedness, courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to their political convictions, despite the intimidation and destruction they have endured. I assured them that their sacrifices, courage, and contributions to the peace and development of their communities will not be in vain. I am deeply grateful to the affected leaders and community members for their warm reception and for appreciating my presence at this difficult moment. Their words of encouragement further strengthened my resolve to continue standing with our people, particularly when they face difficult and challenging circumstances. The affected leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to peace, assuring me that they would remain calm, law-abiding, and steadfast in their political beliefs. Their courage in the face of provocation is commendable and worthy of recognition. I also assured the victims, affected leaders, and residents that appropriate security and administrative channels will continue to be engaged to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice. Nobody should be above the law, and every citizen deserves protection regardless of political affiliation. I therefore appeal to all Accord members, supporters, and residents across the affected local government areas to remain calm, peaceful, resilient, and law-abiding. I specifically urge everyone to reject any temptation to retaliate. Violence will only deepen the pain and create further division among our people. As leaders, we must rise above provocation and continue to defend democracy through lawful and peaceful means. Violence has no place in a free and democratic society. I call on the relevant security and law-enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough, impartial, and speedy investigation into these attacks and ensure that those responsible face the full weight of the law. Our people deserve peace. Our communities deserve security. And our democracy must be protected. I remain committed to standing with our people and working for peace, justice, fairness, and the continued progress of Osun State.

Fellow Nigerians, Our Beloved Youths, I address you today with a heart full of empathy and a deep sense of duty. We are living through challenging times, and I want to acknowledge the difficulties that many of you, especially our youth, are facing. The economic pressures, social uncertainties, and other related concerns weigh heavily on our nation. Your frustrations and reservations are not lost on us. We hear your cries for change, for a better and more equitable Nigeria. I want to assure you that these concerns are taken with the utmost seriousness by the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. We are committed to listening, engaging, and working with you to find sustainable solutions to the issues that confront us. The government has initiated several policies and programs aimed at addressing the needs and aspirations of our youth. One of such initiatives is the introduction of student loans to ease the burden of educational expenses and ensure that no Nigerian youth is denied the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams due to financial constraints. The Tinubu-led administration has also made significant strides in providing access to funds for young entrepreneurs through various schemes, such as the Consumer Credit Scheme, designed to support innovation and enterprise. In addition, we are focusing on job creation and skills development. Programs aimed at enhancing employability and creating sustainable livelihoods are being prioritized. We are committed to ensuring that the Nigerian youth are not just jobseekers, but job creators. I also want to highlight the efforts of the House of Representatives in this regard. We are in the process of developing formal legislative mechanisms to ensure continuous engagement and dialogue with our youth. We believe that your voices must be heard, and we are creating platforms for regular interaction to build consensus on the way forward. Therefore, I urge you to remember that nation-building is a collective task. We must shun violence and embrace dialogue. Your right to protest is acknowledged and respected. Let us use legitimate avenues to express our grievances and work together towards constructive solutions. At this juncture, I appeal to the planners of these nation protests to shelve their action for the interest of our nation. Let's give the government more time. Let's open doors for purposeful dialogue with the government. As I have mentioned above, there are measures taken by the government to nip our challenges in the bud. In conclusion, I want to reaffirm the commitment of the House of Representatives to stand with you, to work with you, and to ensure that your future is bright. Thank you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
