Projects now run from one conversation, starting in Claude Code. You describe what needs doing, and Claude directs parallel threads that keep working after you close your laptop. In beta today for select Pro and Max users in cloud sessions; coming to all Claude users soon.

You can talk to Claude the way you'd brief a chief of staff: several things at once, in any order. It routes requests to new or existing threads and checks in when it needs you. The Overview panel shows what's waiting on you, and you can steer any thread, even from your phone.

A project builds over time. Every thread adds to and draws from its shared memory, so Claude can remember that the release moved to Friday, or who to ask before touching the billing service. The project's library keeps the files you add and the ones Claude creates.

Threads run in the cloud, so they keep working even when your computer is offline, but they can't reach files or tools on your computer or your internal network yet. Local support is coming very soon.

Existing projects on Pro and Max plans keep working as they do today. We'll upgrade them as the rollout expands across Claude. Read more: Join the waitlist for earlier access:

oh this is going to be glorious with opus-next

The real bottleneck won't be the execution, it'll be how we manage the context drift when these parallel threads start diverging. How do we ensure they don't end up building three different versions of the same architecture?

This sounds promising until you remember that many users will still need to be nearby to explain their requests

Great example of what I call the ‘Attention Interface’.

claude code directing work in the background is the product people actually wanted from agents

The real shift is the cloud threads part. Your laptop stops being the runtime for your agent's work and becomes a place you check in from instead, which changes what a dev machine even means.

@HamidoFx1 i thought we all agreed to slow down ?☹️

one prompt, parallel threads, keeps running after the laptop closes. that’s a manager, not a chatbot

Reset plz 🥲

Where's Opus 5.2?

as a Claude Cowork user, this is what i’ve been waiting for the whole time!

yeah if this holds with opus-next the laptop becomes optional mid-task. that's the jump

anything but opus 5.2, please announce it already

The laptop-close bit makes a per-thread stop button feel less optional

The future is here, but this forces you to main 1 account which is not enough with fable

Exciting to see the progress with Claude's project and cloud sessions. I'm curious how the parallel threads behave when the laptop closes, and what that means for everyday work.

Nice! Was waiting for this one for a while! Now we need Claude Hub 👀

That will really help for real

This is the second time you've done this. It looks like you guys must watch my screen and what I'm trying to achieve and then come out with a product solution 😂

Soon, we’ll just give AI our task list, close the laptop, and go touch grass

The dishes are staying dirty this time, agent's handling it while I'm gone

Impossible to use anyway with session limits Everyone I know is cancelling since the latest nerf because you hit your limit after 1 major prompt Fix it

Absolutely smashing it

One of the best AI product upgrades we’ve seen recently. The real leap isn’t another benchmark gain. It’s being able to describe the outcome once, let multiple agents work in parallel, and come back to finished work. This is where AI starts feeling less like a chatbot and more like a team.

I made this with Claude Code/Fable 5.1. Very cool.

This is Amazing. Ive been waiting a year for this. Excited to try it out, as soon as my usage resets. Jk.

How does Claude Code handle conflicts when parallel threads hit the same file? Like if thread A is refactoring a util while thread B is adding a feature that uses it.

I ran out of usage and I’m going to one of your guys’s events in New York City today. Any chance I could get a usage reset

Big fan

Thanks for amazing features

Curious how this lands. Has issues with managing the chats - sorting/grouping was super clunky. Trying it out 🌪️

anybody using codex instead of claude...? Is codex better wondering if I should switch?

This is the real shift - from chatbot to project manager. We used to manage the AI, now AI manages the threads while we sleep.🤘🏻
