Proof of concept for a custom melee system using the new held item template ⚔️ It’s fully modular, making it easy to swap animations, adjust damage, add combos etc. The system uses collision detection on the melee weapon itself, so you can customize the hitbox directly through the mesh collision.

@FNCreate We are starting to get really good stuff 😯 This is peak, we could genuinely build a pretty good combat system already. we need a few more things like that new holding pose component and its gonna be really good

@FNCreate Wait, I just realized is Layer Animation working now?

@FNCreate Yes! This is using the play_animation_layer + I'm setting the additive anim type to "local space" so it layers on top of the Fortnite animations perfectly.

@FNCreate It wasn't working until yesterday it's good to know it's fixed now

@FNCreate So cool🔥

@FNCreate Wow - Possibilities are endless - love to see more examples!

@FNCreate THAT'S SO COOL, I WANT TO PLAY WITH IT LATER, TOO

@FNCreate Is the sword an entity?

@FNCreate Yes it is 🙌

@FNCreate 👀

@FNCreate A regular in my discord suggested this to me actually, this shows exactly how efficient this actually is! I might do this

@FNCreate ⚔️FortQuest

@joelbestart @FNCreate Have you been able to access the native FortMeleeBlock in static meshes with this? I have almost all of this designed, this is the one area I haven’t been able to tap yet
