Note taking is an effective learning tool. Who would have thought all those people writing journals for thousands of years was a good thing?

I have been saying this for years! Yet there is still the push for students to use technology!!

Was at a work training event this week, and the presenter handed out copies of slides, “So (we) could listen and not waste time taking notes.” I listened and took notes anyway.

I had a struggling student that had trouble recalling letters and sounds. We worked on a few letters for months 1 on 1 with poor results. Then I found tactical cards with a bumpy texture. After a few weeks they recalled the entire alphabet! Kinesthetic learning is important 🤗

Mm-hm. What age/s was this study performed upon? What size was the testing pool? Demographics? That makes a difference.

Absolutely agree with this BUT that doesn’t mean that technology has no place in the classroom. Educatos need to take a blended approach that meats the needs of students and prepares them for the future.

I either write or type and both help me retain and recall the information perfectly. I make sure my learners make note of important instructions in their journal. It’s helps recall and they can always go back to the journal for reference.
