I have been teaching math for over 22 years 6- college and I have said the worse thing we did was take rote out of math. Memorizing is just as important and can help in a lot of areas. Not having children memorize multiplication tables has been one of our downfalls in math

And when the adults in their world react with such joy & laughter, they continue to "perform". Learning cause & effect sets the stage for so many interactions!

One-to-one correspondence is key. I always looked for evidence that kids understood that when I was a preschool/Head Start teacher. You could often observe evidence of it in their play (e.g. deciding themselves to put one small block on top of each big block).

The hand emphasizing his expression kills me. So eloquent.

Always amazed at how much babies really know. My youngest could point out colors before he could say them. “Show me yellow, show me cow…” I would just ask random questions and he KNEW.

Our son eating in a high chair still quite young 2011/2012, proudly counted to ten. Smart-ass husband says “but,can you do it in Spanish?” Immediately…our son begins counting “uno, dos, tres…” all the way to diez. @nickjr !Gracias¡ Dora y Diego! 🤣

I think I see a twin over in mom’s arms? As a mom of twins I can say they work off one another constantly learning quickly. 👍🏻

Are kids, on average, bigger today? I never would have guessed that child was only one.

I had these for my daughter, on the refrigerator, when she was little. I think the visual attached to the sound is important. By 18 months she could pick the right numbers and letters, lower and upper case, when asked.
