In my previous post about the #Nioh3 demo, I mentioned that when the game isn’t consistently holding 60 FPS or 120 FPS, several issues can show up. Here’s a clearer breakdown of what's going on. The main reason is that the game speed and physics are tied to the frame rate. When you enable the 120 FPS cap, the engine start overreacting and pushes CPU usage very high, even if the game is still running at around 60 FPS (as shown in the first example). In the second clip, you can see the uneven, jittery camera movement I mentioned before. Notice how much smoother 60 FPS and 120 FPS look compared to the unlocked side. Also, camera movement at 60 FPS is slightly faster than at 120 FPS. In the third clip, player movement is slower when the frame rate is unlocked. This doesn’t happen all the time, but it shows up often enough to be noticeable. Because of how the Katana Engine behaves, the game is clearly designed around 60 FPS. Running at 120 FPS is possible, but it’s only recommended if your system can maintain that target almost all the time, which isn’t easy to achieve. There’s also an alternative workaround where you select the 60 (locked) option and enable Frame Generation (DLSS or FSR 3), as shown in the last clip. The downside is that DLSS Frame Generation tends to show the same stuttery look as when the frame rate isn’t holding a fixed target, likely due to Reflex keeping the frame rate slightly below target. FSR Frame Generation, on the other hand, looks much smoother and works better here.

karpathy just admitted that his own app got oneshotted and he thinks yours is next. he built menu gen. you take a photo of a restaurant menu and it shows you pictures of what the food actually looks like (because 30-50% of menu items you genuinely have no clue what they are) he vibe coded the whole thing: photo upload → ocr extracts item names → image model generates a picture for each dish → app re-renders the menu with photos next to every item → deployed on vercel but then someone showed him the "software 3.0" version: 1. take the same photo. 2. give it to gemini. 3. say "overlay pictures of each dish onto the menu" gemini returned the original menu photo with food images rendered directly into the pixels just 1 prompt and his entire app became entirely unnecessary here's karpathy's way to test if you're still stuck building in old paradigm: 1. take away all the code in your app. 2. give the raw input directly to an llm. is the output roughly the same? if yes, your code is just adding steps between the input and the output. karpathy thinks the apps that survive are the ones where the code does something the model genuinely can't: > persisting state across users > enforcing access controls > processing payments > connecting to hardware he calls anything else outdated "software 1.0 thinking." the question to ask yourself before you build anything right now: is this an app, or is it just a prompt with extra steps? you simply won't win if your answer is the latter

Wuthering Waves PS5 Performance Test • Test Setup PS5 Slim (brand new, clean, no dust) Room temperature: 22°C with AC • Map Issue Yes, it's real. The new map is locked to around 2 FPS when opened from the menu, making it extremely laggy. • Stuttering Problems The game has severe stuttering. In some areas, it even freezes for 4–5 seconds, making the experience frustrating. • My Observation From my testing, the game appears to be running at a very high internal resolution on PS5 instead of relying on aggressive upscaling. For example, DLSS Quality at 1440p renders the game internally at approximately 1707×960 before upscaling it to 2560×1440. On PS5, however, it looks like the game is rendering at or near 2560×1440 internally and then upscaling to 4K. If that's true, it's an extremely demanding target for a base PS5. • Is This Fixable? Yes. If the game is indeed using such a high internal resolution, lowering it and using better reconstruction or dynamic resolution scaling could significantly improve performance. Running at such a high internal resolution on a base PS5 doesn't make much sense, and the game has suffered from performance issues for nearly 12 months. • Final Thoughts Kuro Games needs to address this. At this point, we can't keep blaming players, their hardware, or the engine. If the high internal resolution is the cause, it should be adjusted. If it isn't, then something else in the game's optimization is seriously wrong. #WutheringWaves #Gacha

Here is my GOALS review: GOALS (baring in mind the game released 3 days ago and they have ALREADY implemented positive changes) ✅Fast paced - responsive - FUN ✅Skill gap is CLEAR - especially in defending ✅Rewarding - nice passing sequence / dribble can lead to a goal and feels GOOD to score ✅L1/R1 dribble is super clean and nice for a good level of control ✅Multiple ways to score and break down an opponent ✅Progression system of players is good - loads of ways to earn packs/in game currency ✅Lots of objectives to grind ✅Ultimately - I want to keep playing matches. More matches. Ranked - Tournaments, I just want to keep playing. What I would like to see improved/implemented 🙏A way to balance your team rating vs opponents - match players based on skill AND team rating - it isn't fun matching someone with a MUCH better team than yours in ranked. 🙏Finesse is by far the best way to shoot, didn't personally find low driven shots effective at all - but that might just be me. As you can see, what I want improved is nit picking. Fair play to the developers and producers at GOALS - they set out with a clear agenda and their product has matched that👏 In my opinion this is not meant to be a FC rival - it isn't meant to be a football sim, ultra realistic graphics, lots of menu content...it is an arcade football game, built for competitive gameplay, built for playing FOOTBALL MATCHES not menu grinding...and most importantly, it is meant to be enjoyed when playing - which I am certainly doing right now. Verdict? Get me back in the game and let me play some more GOALS - I have a tournament to win 🏆

Sharia creep! Only halal chicken on the menu at GTA Wendy's restaurants Remember back in the ’80s when Wendy’s spokeswoman, Clara Peller, became part of the pop culture mosaic? This was thanks to her incessant question, “Where’s the beef?”, when it came to the small portions of hamburger meat served up by Wendy’s stingy competitors. Ms. Peller is long gone, but if she was still shilling for Wendy’s today, her query would likely be, “Why halal?” when it comes to the chicken dishes now being served up at Wendy’s restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area. Indeed, the chicken is now 100% halal. Why? Great question, for which there are no answers being provided. At Wendy’s, transparency is certainly not on the menu these days. We reached out to Wendy’s media relations line for answers. Radio silence. We reached out to Wendy’s customer service line. Yet more radio silence — on the days the customer service line actually functioned, that is. We paid a house call to the headquarters for Wendy’s Restaurants of Canada in Burlington, Ont. It was devoid of life. And when we visited individual restaurant locations, the most-oft repeated answer regarding the 100% halal chicken policy was: “I just work here.” There’s also very little disclosure at Wendy’s restaurants in terms of signage regarding the halal switcheroo. We did not see the halal logo on any restaurant menu boards nor drive-thru menu boards. At one location, we did notice a tiny halal sticker on a dirty, tinted window that was barely readable. And again, the question arises: why is Wendy’s not being honest with its customers regarding what’s on the menu? Granted, Wendy’s is entitled to source whatever food they please. But is it too much to ask for full disclosure? The answer would appear to be: yes, it is too much to ask. And the sourcing of halal products is indeed an issue to those people who are not of the Muslim religion, including Catholics and Hindus who are forbidden to eat food that is blessed by someone of another faith. Given that the Muslim population is less than 5% of the Ontario population (and that not all Muslims adhere to a halal diet), what is the business case for going halal? But again, Wendy’s is shamefully embracing the silent treatment. And so it is that our questions remain unanswered. Shocking. What’s more, it would appear to be part of a disturbing trend. Two years ago, KFC restaurants in Ontario secretly went all-halal. This included the complete removal of bacon from the menu! When we sought answers by visiting KFC’s head office in Vaughan, the staffers threatened to call the police! (Maybe they thought we are already under sharia law as opposed to Canadian law?) And here we thought that the “K” in KFC stood for Kentucky, not Kabul. In any event, if eating halal is a concern to you, our advice is to verify the source of the product prior to ordering. And hope the people on the other side of the counter will offer full and honest disclosure. In the meantime, we wonder how long Wendy’s signature burger, The Baconator, will remain on the menu? Stay tuned… Liquid syntax error: Error in tag 'subpage' - No such page slug x REPORT by David Menzies:
