Quebec doesn't want equalization to be about helping poor Provinces maintain a better quality of life. Quebec wants to dictate to Canada how we operate and give themselves vast sums money, for keeping their resources like natural gas, in the ground. They have said this for years.

Bloc Quebecois' Yves-François Blanchet is "fiercely opposed" against *any kind* of transport of hydrocarbons from Western Canada. He says it doesn't serve Quebec and doesn't think there is a future in western Canada's hydrocarbons. Quebec has gotten hundreds of billions of dollars in equalization thanks to these hydrocarbons and will get $13B this year again. Quebec will be a 3rd world country without it. Time to let the parasite separate. If he thinks his green projects make Quebec rich then it would be better off without Canada and we will cut out losses. We can't build a prosperous country with people like this holding projects and then politicians needed to pander to them for votes.
