I'm going to ABSOLUTELY FUCKING SCREAM it was that easy to do ALL ALONG. I swear to god I've been STRUGGLING with clothing SO MUCH to make it fit - even when making it from scratch but it was THAT easy to make things fit... THANK you.

Yes!!! I also love the surface deform modifier for getting blendshapes. When you adjust your blendshape don’t apply the modifier, click save as shape!

If it's a flat object, something that doesn't need to completely wrap around, you can use a flat lattice with shrink-wrap to preserve volume and get a very snug fit as well. (I wonder if there's a way to shrink wrap a 3D lattice)
