To celebrate the New Year and the successful test of our 100kg engine, we decided to have some fun with its smaller sibling, the DG J40. Naturally, we strapped it to a bicycle. What could go wrong? Stage 1: Idle thrust, went straight—smooth and easy start. Stage 2: Took a U-turn for another straight run—feeling confident. Stage 3: Full throttle—bike rockets forward, brakes fail, and I almost hit a car. Stage 4: Reduced throttle, managed to dodge the car (somehow). Stage 5: Shut it down, praying the leftover brakes would stop me. Lesson: Even the DG J40 delivers more thrust than you’d expect on a bike. Here's to a thrilling New Year!

Running the engine at 100% power + 100% Afterburner is a bad idea⚠️❌😂: I throttled the main engine to 100% and throttled the Afterburner to 100%🥲, it turned out to be Overkill, it was so powerful & violent, however we recorded the highest temperature ever🔥, almost 1300 degrees Celsius 😂 This caused the engine to overheat and melt the turbine blades completely 😂 Final observations: We can run the main engine at max 100% throttle peacefully, but adding Afterburner at 100% will kill the engine ⚠️ The safest maximum operating principles for this design and build are 1. 100% throttle (No Afterburner)= safe✅ 2. 80% throttle and 40-60% Afterburner = safe✅ 3. 100% throttle and 100% Afterburner = engine failure ❌😭 This is why you must test and test and test to failure, to understand the operational limits of machines, exactly why Elon keeps testing his starship continuously as well... We'll replace the turbine in due time🤞🏻, until next time guys, which should be runway testing finally 🚀 We move✊🏻 #Zedora

The engine was designed autonomously without human intervention and then 3D-printed in copper. Taxi test on the Jet engine ⚡️: The engine runs so cool❄️ (EGT 680-800*C) except on prolonged afterburner🔥 use which takes EGT to about 1000*C⚠️ We switched to testing Diesel as fuel & honestly I think I prefer Diesel to kerosene 🤔. Maybe I'll test actual Jet-A1 too Afterburner🔥 mode wanted to send the test bed flying, so we had to abort that and run the taxi test on normal mode at 40-50% throttle. Thrust levels are really excellent, I just wonder how fast this will be at full power plus full afterburner 🔥. We literally built an air breathing rocket engine 🤣. Honestly, I am happy again, the breakdown of this project for weeks took my joy away, I was always sad and down, but hell bent on solving the problems. Next is to build the remote control system so we can unleash the full power of the Jet engine in a long runway from a safe distance. #Zedora #madeinEbonyi #madeinNigeria 🇳🇬

🌕 Tested on Earth. Bound for the Moon. The BE-7 engine for our Blue Moon MK1 lunar lander just completed acceptance testing. Two 290-second tests exposed the engine to its full range of thrust and mixture ratios to verify engine performance. The engine is now off to Florida for integration with MK1.
