With rocket engines, boring is good. To that end, please enjoy this 1,030-second (17+ min!) BE-7 engine burn. This test represents the Apogee Raise Maneuver or ARM burn for our Blue Moon Mark 1 Lunar lander, plus margin, the longest burn required by the mission to reach the Moon. You may have noticed that the engine for this test does not have a nozzle. BE‑7 is tested in both vacuum and atmospheric conditions. This test was at GEEx—our atmospheric test position in West Texas.

#WATCH | Delhi: On Kaveri engine development, DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat says, "Kaveri engine, in its original form, has not delivered the thrust that is required for the LCA. The engine is working very well, it has given us a thrust of 72 kilonewton. But the LCA needs a thrust of 83-85 kilonewton. So, it's not going to be used in the LCA but we are using the derivative of the Kaveri engine for our unmanned combat aerial vehicle. A louder rumble in Rocket City! We just completed our first BE-4 engine hotfire test at the historic Test Stand 4670 in Huntsville. We also continue to test BE-4 engines at our Texas facility. The BE-4 engine produces 550,000 pounds of thrust and is our most powerful engine yet.

Our flight controllers used the Company’s Lunar Data Network to command Athena’s first planned Trajectory Correction maneuver (TCM) at 11:00 a.m. CT on February 28, 2025, to refine the lander’s trajectory ahead of Lunar Orbit Insertion (LOI). Data from the 6-second full-thrust mainstage engine burn confirmed Athena hit her 9.5 m/s target with approximately .38 m/s accuracy. Propulsion mixture ratios, mass flow rate, and temperature were as predicted. The TCM was nominal per expectations. Athena continues to be in excellent health and is closer to the Moon now than the Earth. (28FEB2025 1630 CT)

I've come to appreciate boring hotfires. Our BE-7 team recently completed a 2,500 second hotfire test at 10klbf on a development engine, setting the record for the longest-duration turbo pump-fed liquid rocket engine hotfire. This built on some of the most rigorous testing in the history of propulsion, with the previous record set by the RS-25 engine that powered the Space Shuttle. They recorded two 2,017 second tests in 1988. It's not lost on us that we're following a path those engineers blazed, and we're grateful for it. Grab the popcorn and enjoy watching 41 minutes of hotfire goodness.

January’s GS2 performed remarkably during our inaugural New Glenn launch, delivering our payload to orbit with less than 1% deviation from the target. Today, we completed a full duration 15-second hotfire test of the upper stage for our NG-2 mission. This time, we achieved enhanced performance from the BE-3U engine, increasing the maximum thrust from 173,000 lbf to 175,000 lbf per engine, further expanding New Glenn’s capabilities for our customers.

The Su-57 was flown for the first time with the "Izdeliye 177" engine. This is the third new engine tested on the fighter, following Izdeliye 30 in 2017 and a rectangular-nozzle engine in 2024. Izdeliye 177 delivers 16,500 kgf of thrust and uses an axisymmetric serrated nozzle.

What’s hotter than a Texas summer? Our Miranda engine.🔥 We fired our Miranda engine at full power for 226 seconds— that’s almost 4 minutes! This endurance test verifies that the engine can perform beyond the nominal flight duration, meaning this engine is one step closer to being ready for flight. Seven of these Miranda engines will generate the thrust needed to lift our Eclipse rocket off the launch pad and propel it into orbit.

Jet engine Thrust test✅🔥🚀: Finally we have the data we need, at 100% throttle alone, the engine generated thrust of 7.2KG to 7.8KG (76.5 Newtons) At 100% throttle plus Afterburner it soared to 14KG to 16KG, I saw it peak at 18KG, but we'll take the average at 16KG thrust (157 Newtons) For this scale & build, I am a bit satisfied with the performance, although if I ditch the cooling design on the exhaust the thrust will increase significantly, but the exhaust will glow red hot, so we had to trade some thrust for better cooling for the engine. All the same, I am satisfied with the engine performance at this scale. I look forward to our runway tests⚡️ #Zedora #madeinEbonyi #madeinNigeria 🇳🇬
