In my view that’s one of the greatest swings you’ll see. Great geometry and wind up going back, nothing too contrived. Coming down, shallows and speeds up the arms as he drops his right side. Then rips open his body and extends left side. Aggressive tempo too. Try that move from the top 👌🏼⛳️ Using the new Titleist GT driver here 👌🏼Love that swing 💪🏼

Thought you might find his interesting…..we see many great players “falling left” as they approach the top with an iron. The body stays turned and shifts left then puts the brakes on by rotating and extending at impact. This helps pressure in the ground and get shaft lean at impact. All good things. Slightly different with driver as you wanna keep the upper body back more to hit up on it.

Understanding the body/swing connection is vital if you want to improve your tendencies. If your body isn’t capable of moving correctly, then you’ve no chance in your swing is the logic. Here’s a great couple of exercises for standing up or early extending in your swing from @jenniferfleischer Give her a follow as she has some quality stuff to help your issues. There seems to be a trend of steepening the plane and attack angle on chip shots. Whilst that is a style that can work off wet and fluffy lies, it’s much harder of tighter turf. As soon as it’s so steep you bring in redirection of the club which affects turf interaction. I align with the philosophy of Brett Rumford and Parker McLachlin on these shots with the style being less steep and a stable ulnar/radius angles. The club then skids and with a slight body raise at impact the player can pick it off most conditions. 👍🙏👌🏼⛳️ (vid Skratch) (No disrespect to players featured, they are incredible champions and those lies are tough)

Some people can make the complicated look sooooo simple! Minji Lee in action. That’s as good as any male or female player that you’ll see. Beautiful body motion. Core winds up to move the L-shape of the club and arms. Upper and lower body separate and shift, pulling the L-shape down. The other day I posted a key move great ball strikers do which we call “going around the corner”. Here’s another key move that’s not highlighted much, but is something I see elite ball strikers do and most poor hitters do not do. “Going back down the slope” we call it. Simple little move, but make sure you lower the arms as you do it.

Heck of a player this guy, was +4 handicap but starting to nudge his handicap towards scratch. He knew the look he wanted but was going about it the wrong way. So I used the TrackMan data and my eye to figure out a better solution and created the look he was after. I also looked at some historic video of his swing to see what he did at his best and my solution moved towards that. It’s fun acting as a consultant to elite players ⛳️👌🏼

Golf has historically had misguided concepts and with social media, more so. I’m swing style agnostic but like a swing to be efficient as the ball responds to physics not magic. You should to.

Rose Zhang is like a machine off the tee and one of the best drivers, male or female. What can we learn? 1. Long, wound and rhythmic backswing. 2.Rotation of forearm and wrist in transition to ultra-shallow it 3. Sidebend and rotation at impact with path going up and to the right. Note: hips get a little too spun and recoil later which actually helps torque in her case but not a part to copy. Great action overall. Vid LKD

I don’t actually mean it the way you think … what I mean is sooooo many of you are soooooo angry at your parents for what THEY DID … without you spending a second time thinking of what happened to them and oftentimes what happened to them was based on their anger and resentment and the negative impact that they got from their parents, AKA the concept of this post. Before you get super Bob down at the details , "Grandma, what did great grandma do or great grandpa do?" This is all generational. The real question is: instead of being angry at your parents, are you going to stop the pattern and put in the work and surround yourself with positivity and accountability and have the right people around you? Whether it's meditation or exercise or therapy or other things, are you going to put in the work to get to the next place so you can stop the negativity, the pessimism, the cynicism, the fear and create a new chapter in your family's world?

Coached this kid for many years and he now lives back in Korea. Love his swing, such great fluidity and tempo. It’s a great example also of the arms never getting stuck and how the club “releases” and is almost thrown in a different way to an iron. The shaft raises and club exits higher, the club freewheels more 👌🏼

‘Touch Grass’… I know it gets thrown around as an insult but there’s truth in it … How else are you going to put the game, data, tactics, psychology into context unless you’ve stepped onto an 11 aside pitch and tried your hand at coaching too in order to get a feel for the issues a manager has to deal with or the practical implementation of theory? When you look at the impact ex footballers have had on our understanding of the game - Cruyff and Guardiola for instance, I think we should always try to appreciate the presence of ex footballers in our game even if we don’t agree with everything they say.

Viktor Hovland made 8 birdies to close with a 5 under par 67 at the Masters. After the round, he went deep on the ball flight laws and the importance of matching up the club face to the swing path: “It's a good question. It's just tough to answer. First of all, that's why I like TrackMan and understanding the ball flight laws are very good to have because you can start a ball left, more left than you would like, but if it's curving back, who cares. That just means you're -- granted, if you're hitting it in the center your club path is just maybe creeping a bit more left, but if your face is in the right spot you're just hitting a bigger curve and then you can adjust that accordingly. “If you're starting the ball left and it's going left, is it a face issue, are you striking it off the heel and they're not coming back? There's a lot of minutiae involved with that. “If it's just a face-to-path issue or a club path direction, you can solve that pretty easily by playing a bigger cut or playing a bigger draw or moving it a bit more forward or back in the stance, simple stuff like that.” This is a great explanation that a lot of amateurs can learn from. The Masters

Here’s a “flexed lead wrist” player but with a shut clubface unlike Rham and Morikawa who have the face more open. Many coaches are teaching this wrist style with a shut face. You need to be a consummate athlete to make it work. Here’s some match ups…..😬😳😄⛳️🤷🏻‍♂️#goodluck4most

Lots of people vague or don’t understand what makes the ball start and curve in certain ways. No shame in it, all part of the learning continuum and I’m more than happy to simplify and clarify it. Assuming a center struck shot, “The face sends it and the path bends it”. It’s good to know as you can read the feedback from your strike point and ball flight to then improve your swing. There are other variables caused by striking different parts of the club called “Gear Effect”, but let’s save that for another day 👍 Paige Spiranac 👍
