Recently, EUMETSAT made available pre-operational data from the Lightning Imager aboard their Meteosat 3rd gen weather satellite. It looks really nice! Here's a few days' worth of lightning detections, it's riveting to watch the patterns and movement of the lightning. 🌩️🛰️

🇬🇹 GUATEMALAN VOLCANO FIRES LIGHTNING INTO THE SKY Guatemalans stayed up late to see a glimpse of lightning blasting straight up from the tip of Volcán de Fuego during a night-time eruption. Instead of your standard sky-to-ground lightning, this storm reversed it, like the volcano was firing back at the sky. The explosion lit up the night like a movie scene, complete with rumbling thunder and gasps from the crowd. Source: nelatv_ on Instagram
