After Russia invaded, Ukraine's defense industry has come back strong. From drones to river robots and interceptors, the country’s ability to fight has grown a lot. As Ukraine improves its military technology, help from around the world in defense production is very important. This year looks to bring even more progress.

This week alone, Russia has launched over 1,260 aerial bombs, nearly 750 attack drones, and more than 10 missiles of various types against our people. Russia’s military production, which enables such terror, relies on three key factors: sanctions evasion schemes, without which Russia would lack critical components; high oil prices, which should rightfully be lowered; and an insufficient number of our long-range missiles and drones. We are grateful to all partners who are strengthening sanctions, but more global efforts are needed to decrease Russia’s oil industry capabilities. We will continue to expand the production of our missiles and drones – and we urge all partners to invest in Ukraine’s defense industry, because these are investments in the protection of life.

Our Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces are already gaining an advantage in this area – in July, our soldiers deployed more drones than the occupiers. This needs to be a steady trend on the front – across all types of drones available to our units: from FPV to all others, including our long-range drones – which are already having a strategic impact on the war. Today, I had the opportunity to express gratitude to our defense industry workers. These are the people who have dedicated their lives to Ukrainian strength. People who manufacture our weapons, which show results on the battlefield, at sea, and in air strikes on Russia's war machine. I thank them for Ukrainian artillery shells, cannons, drones, missiles, and electronic warfare systems. For everything that helps our warriors fight and saves Ukraine’s life and the lives of Ukrainians. We will have more weapons, shells, drones, and EW systems. Today, I met workers from one of our defense facilities. We do not talk about it officially. During wartime, we cannot openly demonstrate our capabilities. We will, of course, openly express our gratitude after the war. These are the people who have found a way to significantly strengthen our country. With each day, we gain more and more of this strength. The strength we need so much. Such a long-range strength.

One that is large-scale, effective, and impressive in every sense. Our missiles, our unmanned systems, our interceptors, attack and naval drones, reconnaissance systems, artillery, our ammunition, armored vehicles, robotic systems, and much more. Everything that today can truly be proudly called Ukrainian weapons. They protect our skies, our cities and villages, save lives, and prove that 'Made in Ukraine' is synonymous with effectiveness and strength. For this, I thank everyone working in our defense sector, in our arms industry. The capabilities of Ukraine's defense industry mean millions of FPV drones per year, our deep strikes, interceptors, and millions of shells. Ukraine has its own long-range missile weapons. Not just in development, but a real force already at work. Flamingo and Ruta, Peklo and Neptune, Palianytsia and Vilkha - we can already be proud of all of this, but we will not stop here for sure. Throughout the night and into the morning, emergency rescue operations have been underway in the Donetsk and Dnipro regions. In Kharkiv, rubble is being cleared after a strike on apartment buildings. 27 people were injured, including three children. The youngest, a girl, is just three years old. Three people have been hospitalized. Unfortunately, there was one fatality in Odesa. My condolences to the family and loved ones. The Russians launched 101 drones against Ukraine, most of them Russian-Iranian “shaheds”. Many regions were affected, and air raid sirens are blaring again across many regions this morning due to attack drones. In total, over the past week, there were around 1,270 drones, 39 missiles, and nearly a thousand guided bombs. We are strongly counting on our partners to fully deliver on what we have agreed. Air defense remains the top priority for protecting lives. We are also actively advancing agreements on investing in our domestic weapons production, including all types of drones. Special focus is on interceptor drones. We are contracting at full capacity. I thank all partners who are helping.

For the first time in history, Ukraine has begun building a joint plant with Denmark, on Danish territory, and it will produce components for our missiles and drones, weapons that are already proving highly effective. During this war, Ukraine has already reached the level where nearly 60 percent of the weapons in the hands of our warriors are Ukrainian-made – and they are strong weapons, many of them cutting-edge. Of course, there are goals we must still achieve, in particular the production in Ukraine and together with Ukraine different types of air defense systems. We must get there. Ukraine has already proven that in weapons production we are among the best in the world. I thank everyone who is developing Ukraine’s defense sector, designing new models of Ukrainian weapons, and driving the technological advancement of our country.

And there will be more. We will definitely continue to develop interceptor drone technology and train crews. The Ministry of Defense is contracting all available production capacity for interceptors. We are working on closer cooperation with partners – joint production and financing will let us scale this up faster. Thank you to everyone advancing this effort.

Over the course of the night, Ukraine’s Defense Forces neutralized more than 400 drones, which is a significant result – achieved by our unmanned systems units, army aviation, and mobile fire groups. I held a Staff meeting today. Many reports on supplies for our troops—weapons, all procurements. Contracts and supplies are in place. But we need to accelerate deliveries and increase the supply of systems and weapons that help save more of our soldiers’ lives. More orders for drones. More investment in the development of robotic systems. And more deliveries of essential weaponry. All necessary directives have been issued. Our industry has the potential. Countries, particularly in Europe, are ready to work with Ukraine and invest in our arms production. Our diplomats have clear tasks. We need to increase our partners' funding for Ukraine's defense. This must also be a key performance indicator for Ukrainian diplomacy.

We want to "Stop the Bloodshed" in Ukraine and "Close the Skies." With our brand-new interceptor drone, "Biene Maja," we can do exactly that. It has already proven effective in the Kharkiv region at removing russian reconnaissance drones from the sky. We now need more of them. We're aiming to raise $59,500 to build 100 of these drones. All funds will go directly towards the cost of components, and the drones will be provided to the military free of charge.
