Listen to this: Pete Carroll’s philosophy on recruiting and recruiting out of state. “ they (USC) only go out of the state if they think a young guy has potential to someday be a first round draft choice.” This is saying Southern California, and local guys are top priority in recruiting and should make up majority of the recruiting board. The only exception is if USC finds a potential first rounder out of state. Let’s get back to these times and recruit the best in California! Make local recruits a priority ✌️

The problem with defensive awareness is that most players watch basketball like this... They only follow the ball. They watch it like a fan and not to get better. Which is unfortunately what highlights, mixtapes, and short clips ingrain the habit to be. Then when they step on the floor, no wonder they can't see the ball and their man, let alone everything else - they've only focused on one thing at a time. The first step to changing defensive awareness, is changing how players consume the game. Awareness is a habit. And habits can be developed. Full breakdown out now:

I wonder if Zac Taylor ever worked at McDonald's? This is a management strategy where you put "Aces In Their Places" It's lunchtime and you want your best people in their best positions. Don't put your best cook in the drive-thru when it's 12:30 on a Saturday. Zac is tasking his coordinators with understanding what their players do best and utilizing those advantages as much as they can and in the right moments.
