I think that a lot of gamers who haven't played Red Dead Redemption 2 before going into GTA 6 will be mind-blown by how much you can mess with NPCs and have branching conversations with them by using the Greet/Antagonize feature. Rockstar Games has obviously worked on this game mechanic even, making it even better and more realistic so I'm pretty sure that even gamers which have played Red Dead Redemption 2 before will still be fascinated, I for one can't wait to talk to random NPCs like this.

In one of the Grand Theft Auto VI screenshots that Rockstar Games shared back in May 2025, you can see some large fires in Ambrosia. Red Dead Redemption 2 was notorious for having extremely realistic fire physics and I can't wait to see how Rockstar will work upon that. Based on this screenshot alone you can see how much better it looks and how the smoke effects are much more realistic. Setting something on fire could last much longer and the fire could also grow much larger depending on weather conditions.

Love how Eladios last moment was realizing that Gus destroyed him and the cartel. He underestimated him and this was his downfall. Also love how he falls into the pool, like Tony Montana in Scarface in which Steven Bauer (Eladios actor) played Tonys best friend Manny.

Dan Houser talks about cut content in Red Dead Redemption 2 in a recent podcast at Lex Fridman. Arthur was supposed to have a baby which would've died at the beginning of the story which was cut. In Dan's opinion this was the right decision and it was too tough in some ways.

One of the Grand Theft Auto V downsides was that it didn't match GTA IV in terms of euphoria ragdoll physics, in this example here you can see how easily the NPCs die when you shoot them on the foot. Part of the reason why I believe the euphoria engine was downgraded was due to the scale of GTA V and that it was designed for PS3/Xbox 360 consoles. Fast Forward a generation later, Red Dead Redemption 2 is much better compared to this, but I still prefer the one in Grand Theft Auto IV. When GTA VI comes out, perhaps we will see a more improved version of euphoria ragdoll physics which will be a mix of both GTA IV style ragdolls and Red Dead Redemption 2.

//I don’t think anyone else has talked about this, but it’s honestly crazy how the Bananza team took one of the most peaceful tracks in gaming history and put it into a climatic chase theme

To give you a perspective on how advanced the NPC interaction system in GTA VI is going to be, here's a direct comparison between GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 In GTA V, the only option is to greet or insult NPCs depending on the character that you're playing as, in this case here Trevor will insult them. Red Dead Redemption 2 on the other hand has a completely different NPC interaction system where you have the option to greet, antagonize or rob NPCs. These options alone can give you the freedom to greet an NPC first, then immediately antagonize them to allow for different outcomes based on how you choose to interact with NPCs. This alone was a game changer and you can expect Grand Theft Auto VI to have an even more complex NPC interaction system compared to Red Dead Redemption 2, with more dialogue options and different outcomes. Its probably one of the reasons why GTA VI is taking much longer to develop, imagine how many lines of dialogue Rockstar Games had to record and make all of them work seamlessly by the time the game comes out.

arguably my favourite moment in gaming history, is this specific ride in Red Dead Redemption 2, where D’Angelo’s ‘Unshaken’ plays. not only did his music mean a lot to me, but he played a pivotal rate in one of modern gaming’s most iconic moments.

By far one of the creepiest things you can encounter in Red Dead Redemption 2 is hearing whispers coming from the woods in Roanoke Valley.
