This is why we pursue➡️🚨 Just before 8 a.m. on Saturday, District 2 officers, while on proactive patrol, spotted a Nissan Maxima near East Alameda Avenue and South Sable Boulevard. The car had no license plate, and the driver was wearing a ski mask. Both, immediate red flags. Officers attempted to stop the car…but of course the driver didn’t stop. That’s when the pursuit began.🚔 Within a matter of minutes, the vehicle lost control and crashed into a cluster of small trees near East Alameda Avenue and South Havana Street. The driver, 33-year-old Sean Wroblewski, revved the engine trying to flee again even though there was no way out. Officers gave commands to exit the vehicle. Wroblewski, out of options, eventually complied and was taken into custody. He was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Accountability hurts sometimes. When officers searched the vehicle, it was a frenzy of stolen and illegal items. Buckle up because it’s an impressive list. ◾A handgun with a defaced serial number. ◾21 grams of methamphetamine. ◾Birth Certificates that were definitely not Wroblewski’s. ◾More than 35 suspected stolen credit cards. ◾About 50 fraudulent checks. ◾A large amount of stolen mail. A gun and a felony amount of fentanyl now off the streets. 🚨 Last week on the 29th, at about 4:52 a.m., D1 officers, utilizing our flock camera systems, were alerted to a stolen vehicle near N. Peoria and E. 23rd Ave. Officers attempted to stop the truck, the driver had other plans... That's when the pursuit started.➡️ Stop sticks were deployed near E. 11th along Peoria which deflated two of the truck’s tires. That didn’t stop the truck either. Finally, a PIT maneuver was conducted and two people were taken into custody. A firearm was located in the vehicle along with a felony amount of fentanyl…a lethal combination. ◾The driver: 32-year-old Werner McKay was arrested on charges of eluding, motor-vehicle theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. ◾The passenger: 34-year-old Ashley Carrasco was arrested on charges of trespassing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. This is why we pursue. Drivers who refuse to stop rarely have nothing to hide. This is also why technology like flock cameras are necessary tools for 21st century policing. His mother, who has not been charged with any crime, says she was trying to communicate to officers that there was a baby in the car. Heck of a way to start a Tuesday. 🚨 While you were sleeping, patrol officers in two districts were dispatched to a home in the 2400 block of South Memphis Way for a report of an in-progress burglary. While en route, our officers learned that a suspect had previously kicked in the door to the occupied residence earlier in the night, and had now returned, trying to reenter the home, but couldn't... Maybe he started to panic when he heard our sirens approaching quickly. 🚔 What's worse is he was possibly armed with a shotgun. We got a vehicle description and attempted a traffic stop on the car, which was parked right outside the home. But that driver instead decided to flee. ➡️ After a short pursuit, our officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the car near the intersection of E. 6th Ave. and Nucla Way. Two people ran from the vehicle and one immediately surrendered at the vehicle. The driver, who was also the main suspect of the burglary, was caught after a foot chase that tested everyone’s cardio. The passenger who ran was also captured, but his route was considerably shorter. Yup, we got all three. 💪 The driver, identified as 33-year-old Anthony Mestas-Herrera, was wearing rifle plates and dropped both a shotgun and handgun when he ran from the car following the PIT. He was subsequently arrested for 2nd degree burglary, kidnapping, vehicular eluding and obstruction. He also has a lengthy criminal history to include 1st degree homicide, 2nd degree assault on a peace officer, drug distribution, multiple motor vehicle theft charges, and more. NEW: Escondido police fatally shoot woman after high-speed pursuit and crash on I-15 On August 29, 2025, Escondido police attempted to stop Maria Toedt, who was wanted for felony evading and believed to be driving a stolen vehicle. During the hour long pursuit, Toedt called 911 and told dispatchers she was armed and would have to be taken in a body bag. The pursuit ended near the I-15 and SR-163 interchange after her SUV collided with another sedan. After the crash, three officers opened fire into the vehicle. Sometimes the most dangerous situations start with something simple … like expired plates. ‼️ Yesterday just after 10 a.m., one of our traffic officers attempted to stop a driver of a pickup towing a trailer with years-old expired tags on southbound I-225 at East 17th Place. The driver had other ideas. And from there, you’ll see. Lives could have changed in an instant. Despite activating lights and siren, the driver not only refused to stop but also swerved toward our officer on his motorcycle. Thankfully, our officer was able to hit the brakes to avoid a collision, even after a large box flew off the back of the pickup.🚔 The suspect then blew through a red light, trying to evade our traffic officer who continued the pursuit undeterred despite nearly being run over. The suspect drove recklessly through the Fitzsimons Parkway area, at one point making another run at another responding officer while also weaving into oncoming traffic. When he crashed into a fence in the 1900 block of Akron Street, he tried to run. Spoiler alert: running rarely works. Thanks to a detailed description from the original motor officer and alert community members who saw him discarding clothing, officers quickly established a perimeter and located 39-year-old Kyle Secrist. Insolent even in his capture, the suspect had the audacity to ask approaching officers, “What did I do?” Secrist was detained without further incident and arrested for attempted homicide, driving with a revoked license, reckless driving, vehicular eluding and motor vehicle theft…did we forget to mention the pickup he was driving AND the trailer were both stolen? The suspect’s criminal history spans 20+ pages and includes dangerous drug offenses, parole violations, assault, burglary, menacing, habitual traffic offender and DUI offenses, and child abuse. Expired plates are fixable. Trying to run over a police officer is not.➡️ Our officers never know when a routine stop will turn into something more. They show up anyway. Officer safety is not just a talking point. It is real. It is unpredictable. And it is a risk our officers accept every day to keep this community safe. We are not okay, and that’s okay to say. I wish I could tell you that we are standing here and that the rest of the world is standing with us. With you. Sadly I can’t say that. There is a loud and aggressive minority around the world who doesn’t get, that being murdered at a peace festival does not equal resistance. I do however, know that we are standing here on behalf of all those people in the world, with moral clarity. And there are a lot of them. And there are many who want to be here with you. And they are here with you at heart. On October 7th, your loved ones went to Nova. We call it a peace music festival because that’s what it was—a place to make new friends, to let loos explore and celebrate life. And this juxtaposition hurts the most —because on that day, the light your loved ones were, was met with the most unimaginable darkness. Our lives will never be the same. But today, as we remember them, we also make a promise: to honor their memory by living as they would have. As we stand here in grief, we have a message to the world: we will not be defeated. Israel was attacked on October 7th and every day since, for the crime of existing. For the audacity of just being here. But we are here, and we are here to stay. And despite the trauma we’ve faced, we are in Israel, standing strong together, committed to the memories of those we lost and to the return of our hostages. Scene in Edmonton after a crash just recently. According to our reports, two teens were seen driving a possibly stolen vehicle on the north side of the city with police in pursuit. The vehicle crashed into a building, causing significant damage. One of the kids fled on foot, while the other became trapped inside the car. With police arriving and guns drawn, the trapped individual had to crawl out over the top of the vehicle and was subsequently arrested. The other suspect managed to escape the scene.

WATCH THIS! A police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle in southern Utah came to a quick end when a Washington County sheriff's deputy deployed a Grappler Police Bumper, wrapping a tether around the vehicle's rear tire. The pursuit began Wednesday after police were alerted to a vehicle reported stolen out of California entering Utah on I-15 from Arizona. Deputies say the driver repeatedly refused to stop and even tried to take off again after the Grappler was deployed, backing up in an attempt to break free. It didn't work. Our agents recently took two dangerous suspects into custody following a high stakes encounter that began with a carjacked vehicle out of Denver. On March 23 agents spotted the stolen car near West Teller Street and West Colfax Avenue and immediately coordinated a response. With the vital assistance of Colorado State Patrol, the suspect vehicle was successfully intercepted as it turned south on Kipling Street. You can see in the video how the specialized grappling equipment effectively tethered the car even as the driver attempted to rev the engine and escape. The situation escalated when a passenger discarded a firearm and the driver attempted to flee on foot across Kipling Street. Our agents pursued and apprehended the driver who was found with a loaded stolen handgun and several packages of powdered fentanyl in his possession. Both individuals now face a long list of charges including motor vehicle theft and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. We are proud of the quick thinking and seamless teamwork displayed by our agents and state partners to remove these weapons and drugs from our community. September 11th was a day that united a nation. Americans joined together to fight a common enemy. The day brought injury and death to American citizens, and we sent our finest to the farthest parts of the earth in the pursuit of justice. Today we remember the loss of life that occurred on 9/11. We remember the men and women who perished during the most senseless and violent attacks on US soil. We also remember the lives lost as a result of that day. We remember the EMS personnel who succumbed to their injuries days, weeks and years later sustained during that day. We remember the service members and intelligence officers who died in the wars that followed the attack. We remember the civilians who deployed and died in the support of the wars. We remember the service members who took their lives as a result of the experience of war. Today we want to not only remember and honor those who died on 9/11, but everyone who fought and died as a result of that fateful day. We as a nation will never forget.

We remember the men and women who perished during the most senseless and violent attacks on US soil. We also remember the lives lost as a result of that day. We remember the EMS personnel who succumbed to their injuries days, weeks and years later sustained during that day. We remember the service members and intelligence officers who died in the wars that followed the attack. We remember the civilians who deployed and died in the support of the wars. We remember the service members who took their lives as a result of the experience of war. Today we want to not only remember and honor those who died on 9/11, but everyone who fought and died as a result of that fateful day. We as a nation will never forget.

🚨 Another Night, Another Flock Success Story! 🚔💥 Last night, our FLOCK license plate reader system flagged a stolen vehicle. Deputies from the Graves shift quickly responded, locating the vehicle, which took off, sparking a pursuit. The chase ended dramatically when the suspects crashed into a building. Thankfully, no one was injured, and even better, all suspects were safely taken into custody. “This is a great example of technology and teamwork coming together to keep our community safe. Thanks to our FLOCK automated license plate reader system, our deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle, quickly located it, and initiated a pursuit that ended with the suspects safely taken into custody. I’m proud of the quick response and professionalism shown by our deputies and supervisors. Tools like FLOCK are force multipliers that allow us to fight crime proactively and effectively.
