boomers buying power out of college was like 6x what zoomers have now

💯🎯

It was enough to live on exactly 4 years ago. Then covid happened and people got $1,400 in exchange for 40% increase in cost of living.

When I was a little kid back in the late 80s and early 90s, I remember adults getting mad at all the government spending and debt that was being accumulated. The common line was “your generation is going to have to pay for this, not us.” I think they were right.

What happened?

We have all been sold out by our government

Voting BLUE no matter who did this to them, the democrats have been lying to these kids for years!

It takes a while to earn a lot even with a college degree. You start at entry level in your field and work your way up. When you come out of college with no experience, don't expect to make huge amounts of money immediately. It happens as you advance in your career.

Gen Z is mostly right - things are unaffordable now But they also support policies in large majorities that push the COL higher (universal healthcare, $20/min wage, free college) and oppose things that would slow COL increases (social security cuts, balanced budget)

They are experiencing the results of decades of dollar devaluation by irresponsible government fiscal and monetary policy mismanagement. Nothing more, nothing less.
