DOWNTOWN CROWN RETAIL THEFT CREW BUSTED: Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department - Investigative Section have arrested 26-year-old Mone Herndon of Washington D.C., 26-year-old Shawn Stewart of Washington D.C., 18-year-old Precious Spivey of Washington D.C., and a 17-year-old of Washington D.C. for felony theft related charges. In collaboration with Lululemon, detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department - Investigative Section have been working inside and around the business to address recent felony theft related incidents. On February 19, 2025 at 2:15 p.m., detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department - Investigative Section and Street Crimes Unit were at the Lululemon in the 100 block of Crown Park Avenue working the retail theft detail when they observed four unknown females enter the business, split up, and bearhug multiple items. The four suspects then made their way to the door without paying. One suspect was apprehended at the door and the three others fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the three other suspects were apprehended in the area of the Harris Teeter located in the 300 block of Copley Place. The four suspects stole over $10,000 worth of items from the business. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the four suspects had also committed a felony theft over $1,500 at the Bath & Body Works in Germantown. The four suspects are also being charged with retail thefts that occurred earlier this year at the Lululemon, along with a theft at the Lenscrafters located in the unit block of Grand Corner Avenue in Gaithersburg, MD. Herndon, Stewart, and Spivey were transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center and the 17-year-old was released to their parents. SACRAMENTO SHERIFF ORGANIZED RETAIL THEFT DETECTIVES ARREST BUSTS PAWN SHOP SCHEME Between December 2025 and April 2026, a suspect targeted multiple Home Depot and Lowe’s stores across Sacramento County and neighboring counties. Detectives have linked approximately 50 thefts to the same suspect, with losses exceeding $20,000. Detectives with the Organized Retail Crime Unit learned the suspect primarily stole high-value power tools and immediately sold them to local pawn shops, including North City Pawn, Action Loan & Pawn, and Gold-n-Pawn, for cash. Through surveillance, search warrants, and follow-up investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as 35-year-old Anthony Vargas. Investigators determined Vargas made it a daily routine to steal in the morning, then rotate pawn shops selling brand new items in the box, with little to no questions asked. Surveillance showed pawn shop employees reviewing repeated, identical items from Vargas’s truck before purchase. Search warrants at pawn shops recovered over $10,000 in stolen merchandise and indicated the scope of thefts may be greater than initially known. Vargas was arrested for multiple counts of PC 487 (Grand Theft) and PC 490.4 (Organized Retail Theft), with bail set at $100,000. On April 15, 2026, he was released on his own recognizance with pre-trial probation, ordered to stay away from all Home Depot and Lowe’s locations in Sacramento County. Within hours of release, Vargas stole a $650 DeWalt table saw from another Home Depot and sold it to a different pawn shop. Detectives quickly located him in South Sacramento, arrested him again, and recovered the stolen item. A judge has since approved a $250,000 bail enhancement. Vargas was also booked for driving on a suspended license and his truck was impounded. His criminal history includes theft, firearms offenses, felon in possession of a firearm, narcotics, and DUI. FIVE ARRESTED IN AUBURN BOULEVARD HOMICIDE At approximately 12:00 AM on Sunday, March 15, 2026, North Patrol Deputies responded to the 4400 block of Auburn Boulevard for a report of a shooting. Deputies located a male and female inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies provided medical aid until fire personnel arrived. The male was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive. The female was pronounced deceased at the scene. Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators determined the shooting occurred during a “pop-up” party at 4366 Auburn Boulevard, where large crowds had gathered inside and outside the building. Witnesses reported that a group of four to five males retrieved handguns from a vehicle and fired approximately 70 rounds toward another group in the parking lot. Tragically, the gunfire struck two uninvolved victims who were passengers in an Uber attempting to leave the parking lot. The victims had no affiliation with either group and were caught in the crossfire. During the five-week investigation, Detectives learned one group was waiting for a rapper and his associates to exit the party. When they saw the group, five suspects exited a vehicle and opened fire into the crowd. Detectives identified all five suspects, three adults and two juveniles. On April 20, four suspects were taken into custody, including 18-year-old Kymani Agbouti (Vallejo) and 18-year-old Avante Washington (Antelope), along with two juveniles from Oakland and Sacramento. The fifth suspect, 20-year-old Juan Colmenero (Emeryville), fled to Puerto Rico. On April 29, he was arrested at San Francisco International Airport and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. All five suspects have been arrested for homicide charges. There are no outstanding suspects.

While deputies were responding, it was reported that an individual was shooting into a crowd. Deputies determined that three suspects—25-year-old Avieon Spencer, 35-year-old Antwon Pace, and a 14-year-old juvenile—had been driving erratically through a parking lot before crashing their vehicle, causing it to overturn onto its side. After the crash, Pace appeared injured while Spencer and the juvenile exited the vehicle. The suspects became upset after noticing bystanders recording the incident. They assaulted a male victim and robbed him of his phone, and also assaulted a female victim, though they were unsuccessful in taking her phone. When onlookers attempted to physically detain Spencer, a fight broke out. During that confrontation, the juvenile retrieved a firearm and began shooting. One victim was struck by gunfire, and an arriving Sacramento Metro Fire engine was also struck. Fire personnel were forced to flee on foot and were fortunately not injured. Spencer and the juvenile fled the scene in different directions. The juvenile was quickly apprehended by responding deputies. Sheriff’s K9 units tracked Spencer from the scene, and Sheriff’s K9 Billy located him hiding in a nearby residential neighborhood, where he was taken into custody. He was later medically cleared and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for robbery and delaying a public officer, with bail set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 26. The handgun used in the incident was recovered. The 14-year-old shooter was booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall for assault with a deadly weapon (firearm) and assault on a firefighter with a firearm. Pace was transported to a local hospital for injuries related to the collision and will be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on outstanding warrants once medically cleared.

On Friday, June 26, 2026, PCSO deputies arrested 12 adults and 3 juveniles who were stealing food and drinks at the Davenport Wawa located on Old Lake Wilson Road; all of the suspects have been staying in an AirBNB visiting Polk from other counties in Florida. A 16th suspect was arrested during the investigation for interfering with deputies while they were detaining the theft suspects. Store employees contacted the Sheriff's Office after observing the suspects walking around the store, concealing bottled drinks and some food within their clothes. The group of people appeared to all know each other, and arrived at the store in three separate vehicles - a BMW, a Tesla, and a Honda Accord. The suspects, a mix of young adults and juveniles, were taking turns going into and out of the store during a 15-minute time span, some of them eating and drinking the items that they stole. A suspect has been arrested and charged with the armed home invasion at 6ix9ine's South Florida mansion in November. On Dec. 19, Pedro Rodriguez was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in connection with the crime. Darryl felt the need to interject in the lawful traffic stop.
