On June 27th, Orlando Police officers conducted a traffic stop on South Semoran Boulevard. During the investigation, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The search resulted in the recovery of a firearm, a scale, and a felony amount of cannabis. The driver, Yadiel Argelis Perez-Pereyra, was arrested and charged with selling and delivering cannabis within 1,000 feet of a school, possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possessing drug paraphernalia. Great work by our officers in helping remove illegal drugs and a firearm from our streets and keeping our community safe.

Quick thinking #DCSO deputies catch another auto theft suspect. On Monday night, patrol deputies responded to a report of an in-progress vehicle theft on Mill Vista Road in Highlands Ranch. Responding deputies quickly established a perimeter and began searching the area. The vehicle was located, occupied, in a parking garage on Mill Vista Road. Upon observing law enforcement in the area, the suspect vehicle attempted to back out of a parking space. The deputy activated the patrol vehicle's emergency lights and pulled forward to signal the suspect to stop. The suspect vehicle accelerated forward, scraping, and colliding with the front passenger side push bumper of the patrol vehicle. The vehicle ran a stop sign and sped away. Deputies pursued the vehicle for a short distance, and the suspect vehicle spun out of control and rolled backwards into a metal railing, where it was pinned in place by deputies. The suspect, later identified as Armon Chism (DOB: 05/15/1982), of Denver, fled from the vehicle, and a short foot pursuit was initiated by pursuing deputies. The suspect was placed into custody after a successful taser deployment. While conducting their investigation, deputies were able to establish probable cause that Chism was a suspect in an earlier vehicle pursuit of a stolen Hyundai Tucson at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and County Line Road. Chism was found to be in possession of the stolen Hyundai ignition key and the vehicle was recovered nearby. Chism was booked into the Douglas County Jail for investigation of Motor Vehicle Theft, Vehicular Eluding, Obstructing a Peace Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Protection Order Violation, and Criminal Impersonation. Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said, “We will not allow criminals to victimize Douglas County residents. We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community will continue to work tirelessly to protect our residents and their property. I am so proud of my deputies who responded quickly and didn’t give up until this suspect was in custody.”

The operation resulted in seven arrests, including two felony arrests under Proposition 36, three additional felony drug-related charges, and two warrant arrests involving a total of five outstanding warrants. Deputies also issued ten trespass notices and cited several additional individuals. Organized retail theft continues to impact businesses, employees, and consumers throughout our community. Not in Douglas County! 🚫🚔 You can run, and you can try to hide, but we will find you. Earlier this month, an alert deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle in the King Soopers parking lot on S. Quebec Street. The car was parked in a handicap spot with expired temporary tags (April 2024). The vehicle had been flagged earlier that day for running from police in another jurisdiction. One person was detained immediately, but two men…both Aurora residents…decided to take their chances on foot. It was all hands on deck to ensure they didn't get far: •Patrol Deputies established a tight perimeter. •Drones provided overhead surveillance. •K-9 Rudy, our IMPACT unit and our Traffic team conducted a ground search. One runner was caught quickly near a local business. The second suspect led deputies on a search through a nearby residential neighborhood. Thanks to vigilant citizens who pointed the way, deputies located the suspect hiding behind a first-floor balcony and safely took him into custody. The primary suspect was found to have multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants, including charges for burglary, stalking, and forgery. All three now face charges of obstruction. Great work by the entire team and our community for keeping Douglas County safe!

Can't stop, won't stop. On Thursday, during the height of rush hour, a vehicle theft suspect decided it was a good idea to try and run from the police. He sped through heavy, busy intersections attempting to avoid us and get away. When his car finally came to a stop, he booked it out of the vehicle. But APD? Can't stop, won't stop. Our officers were right on his heals and nabbed him in less than 25 seconds. Cory Thompson, 36, was subsequently arrested on charges of motor vehicle theft, felony eluding, criminal possession of a financial transaction device, possession of dangerous drugs and driving without a license. Shockingly, this wasn’t the first time Thompson had a run-in with APD. Dating to Christmas Day 2022, we’ve arrested Thompson SEVEN times. All seven of those arrests involved stolen vehicles that were either taken from members of our community or our neighbors in the Denver metro. Heck of a run, but not fast enough. APD announced that they arrested 112 people during a three-week, zero tolerance operation along the Central Avenue corridor. APD reported that their GANG unit, FAST unit, and their Narcotics units conducted a proactive operation with the assistance of Field Services Bureau Proactive Response Teams (PRT). During the operation, officers arrested 112 people, cleared 106 felony warrants and 38 misdemeanor warrants. The operation focused on out in the open (plain sight) drug use, drug trafficking, active warrants and maintained a high visibility presence along the Central Avenue corridor. During the operation, the narcotics unit focused on targeting drug trafficking along the east Central corridor. Detectives highlighted the arrest of Kyle Kamm for trafficking a controlled substance. Through the investigation, it was learned that Kamm was armed with a 9mm handgun during multiple drug transactions. This arrest resulted in the following: Approximately 500 fentanyl pills 9mm handgun Ammunition Drug trafficking paraphernalia Felony charges APD says that this specific case highlights the potential violence that can occur during drug transactions where a firearm is present. APD went on to say that there has been a decrease citywide in aggravated assaults and shootings, primarily through the Central Avenue Corridor. For the first time in recent years, the Southeast area command has seen a 9% decrease in aggravated assaults and shootings. During their operation, Southwest PRT also assisted in the apprehension of Charles Madrid, the suspect involved in the fatal stabbing that occurred this past week on a bus. As part of their ongoing efforts to combat violent crime along the Central corridor, APD implemented a second swing shift PRT team. It has been created specifically for the violent southeast area command. APD believes that their re-allocation of police resources and specialty units along Central Avenue during different times of the day, including evenings and nights, are a contributing factor to the decrease in violence and proactive results. APD says their operations will continue throughout the year along the Central Avenue corridor.

With the assistance of a live camera feed from the Public Safety Camera Network, SPD patrol officers, Entertainment Team officers, and K9 officers coordinated a contact team and safely detained the involved individuals. The firearm previously observed on camera was recovered from the original individual. The suspect, 27-year-old Anuxath Chompoosang of Sacramento, was arrested on related firearm charges. Police say the shooting was gang-related and the suspect targeted an adult member of a rival gang. Two innocent bystanders were also wounded. An adult woman who was pushing a stroller has been arrested for helping the shooter escape. During today’s press conference, the San Jose Police Chief and Mayor criticized the lack of consequences for young repeat gun offenders, noting that 44% of recent gang-related incidents in the city were committed by juveniles. The Santa Clara County DA will announce formal charges Wednesday morning.

Officers searched a second individual associated with the suspect and located another loaded firearm and marijuana. A third associated suspect was also later arrested after officers were able to trace the trio back to a nearby vehicle where additional quantities of marijuana and drug paraphernalia indicative of sales activity was located. Air1 Assists TPS in Locating Suspects in Shooting Investigation The DRPS Air1 helicopter assisted Toronto Police Service in the arrest of two suspects in a shooting investigation. On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at around 4:00 p.m., officers from Central West Division responded to the area of Thickson Road North and Taunton Road East after receiving information from Toronto Police Service that two suspects involved in a shooting in Toronto earlier that afternoon were in the area. Air1 conducted an aerial search of the area and located the suspect vehicle in a driveway of a residence in Whitby. Shortly after, the vehicle left the residence and Air1 followed the vehicle into Oshawa, providing updates to TPS and DRPS officers on the ground. At one point, the suspect got into another vehicle, which Air1 began to follow. At approximately 5:15 p.m., units were able to box in the vehicle the suspects fled on foot. Air1 followed one suspect, and he was taken into custody. At approximately 6:00 p.m. Air1 located the second suspect in a nearby playground and he was taken into custody. Officers also located a firearm and a quantity of drugs. One male from Oshawa and one male from Toronto are facing multiple charges and were held for bail hearings. To see TPS’ release: . -30-

THREE ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTING, ROBBERY, AND VEHICLE CRASH IN SACRAMENTO At approximately 5:33 PM on Thursday, January 22, North Division Patrol Deputies responded to the area of Fulton Avenue and Hurley Way in Sacramento for a report of a vehicle collision that had escalated into a physical fight. While deputies were responding, it was reported that an individual was shooting into a crowd. Deputies determined that three suspects—25-year-old Avieon Spencer, 35-year-old Antwon Pace, and a 14-year-old juvenile—had been driving erratically through a parking lot before crashing their vehicle, causing it to overturn onto its side. After the crash, Pace appeared injured while Spencer and the juvenile exited the vehicle. The suspects became upset after noticing bystanders recording the incident. They assaulted a male victim and robbed him of his phone, and also assaulted a female victim, though they were unsuccessful in taking her phone. When onlookers attempted to physically detain Spencer, a fight broke out. During that confrontation, the juvenile retrieved a firearm and began shooting. One victim was struck by gunfire, and an arriving Sacramento Metro Fire engine was also struck. Fire personnel were forced to flee on foot and were fortunately not injured. Spencer and the juvenile fled the scene in different directions. The juvenile was quickly apprehended by responding deputies. Sheriff’s K9 units tracked Spencer from the scene, and Sheriff’s K9 Billy located him hiding in a nearby residential neighborhood, where he was taken into custody. He was later medically cleared and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for robbery and delaying a public officer, with bail set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 26. The handgun used in the incident was recovered. The 14-year-old shooter was booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall for assault with a deadly weapon (firearm) and assault on a firefighter with a firearm. Pace was transported to a local hospital for injuries related to the collision and will be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on outstanding warrants once medically cleared.

A gun and a felony amount of fentanyl now off the streets. 🚨 Last week on the 29th, at about 4:52 a.m., D1 officers, utilizing our flock camera systems, were alerted to a stolen vehicle near N. Peoria and E. 23rd Ave. Officers attempted to stop the truck, the driver had other plans... That's when the pursuit started.➡️ Stop sticks were deployed near E. 11th along Peoria which deflated two of the truck’s tires. That didn’t stop the truck either. Finally, a PIT maneuver was conducted and two people were taken into custody. A firearm was located in the vehicle along with a felony amount of fentanyl…a lethal combination. ◾The driver: 32-year-old Werner McKay was arrested on charges of eluding, motor-vehicle theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. ◾The passenger: 34-year-old Ashley Carrasco was arrested on charges of trespassing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. This is why we pursue. Drivers who refuse to stop rarely have nothing to hide. This is also why technology like flock cameras are necessary tools for 21st century policing. Thanks to the real-time use of technology and diligent, on scene investigative work of our officers on patrol and in the Real Time Information Center, 30-year-old Rafael Gutierrez of Sacramento was identified as the suspect in this hit-and-run collision. Shortly after leaving the collision, officers located Gutierrez at a nearby hospital and arrested him on charges related to felony hit-and-run, reckless driving, and driving while his license is suspended/revoked. Thankfully, the other party involved in the collision sustained non-life-threatening injuries. We all share a responsibility to keep our roadways safe. Reckless driving is entirely avoidable and endangers everyone. Fleeing the scene of a collision you're involved in is illegal and will not be tolerated. Crimes like this threaten our community, and we will continue to use the tools and resources available to identify suspects and ensure they are held accountable.

John Vea Usaike Jr., 32, is awaiting extradition to Salt Lake County Jail where he will be booked on two counts of homicide, three counts of felony discharge of a firearm resulting in serious bodily injury, and possession of a firearm by a restricted person. The charges are pertaining to the January 7th shooting outside of the LDS meeting house where a Tongan Crip Gang funeral was being held in Salt Lake City that killed two. This was the story that I broke by posting these pictures from inside the LDS meetinghouse- & the media wanted to hide given the blatant gang representation occurring inside an LDS building.
