#PRAGMATA Demo. Ray Tracing Off vs On. Ray Tracing in this game is quite efficient and doesn’t cost much but at the same time its quality is not particularly high. At native 1440p, there is noticeable noise in RT reflections. The game could definitely benefit from additional RT quality settings, or support for DLSS Ray Reconstruction and FSR Ray Regeneration.

As expected, Path Tracing is quite transformative in #007FirstLight. and it adds a lot to the lighting and overall look. but that's not always the case and the impact varies quite a bit depending on the scene. On the performance side, this is one of the heaviest Path Tracing implementations I have seen, both in FPS cost and VRAM usage. Now, to be fair, the RTX 4070 Super generally isn't really suitable for PT, but the performance drop is still massive. On another note, since I was quite busy when Ray Reconstruction 4.5 was released, this is the first real chance I've had to properly look at it. And I have to say, the upgrade is really impressive. The noise and boiling artifacts that used to plague RR are no longer noticeable and the image quality is excellent, even when upscaling from a low resolution.

More Ray Tracing vs Path Tracing in #PRAGMATA In indoor scenes, the jump from RT to PT isn’t as big as it is outdoors. It generally feels like Capcom focused more on these areas, with improved ambient shading and more shadow casting lights even without RT or PT.

There’s a major issue with DLSS 4.5 that I haven’t seen many people talk about. Any RT effect looks noticeably noisier and more flickery with DLSS 4.5 compared to DLSS 4. This applies across the board, from full path tracing to standard Ray Tracing and even software Lumen.

The Witcher 3 Remastered looks phenomenal. It's bringing in path tracing on PC for the first time and a Ray Tracing mode that runs at 60FPS for the PS5 Pro Combat has had many new animations added to it, mainly to address that awkward feeling when closing distances to enemies.

I tested this on the 4070 Super, and while there is a performance difference, it’s not huge. The GPU also pulls more power on the older driver. If you’re using Path Tracing and have a higher-power 40 series GPU, it’s still worth trying, you might see a bigger performance boost.

Brute force Path tracing on RTX 5090. As an experiment this is using Ultra-performance (480p) upscaled to 1440p. No denoiser only DLSS-SR. Doing 120 paths per pixel at 50FPS. Here is the video. Thanks to discord user Perhapsy for doing the testing. This is not even efficient use of such high ray count
