NVIDIA has released DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, which is now available in 30 games. The new AI-powered feature improves image quality in games that use ray tracing or path tracing, with cleaner details, more stable images, and better-looking lighting and reflections. NVIDIA is also showing off upcoming games that...

How many people turn off (or down) Head Bob, Bloom, lighting, shadows and reflections etc before the game even starts the first time?

Queue the anti-AI zealots melting down over something that is good

It's amazing how NVIDIA has has done everything to make AI do the work, instead of making their GPUs better. I doubt this will even effect me on a 3080, as well. They've abandoned hardware improvements and function in favor of AI carrying bad engineering and game dev weight.

Was it supposed to flicker the lasers? Cause if not, that looks like a downgrade over the previous version

Uh.. is 4.5 supposed to look worse? The flicker at the start, sure, but the rays simply poof out of existence half the way down?

I want PC users to know that when they start talking about any framerate under 90-120 being horrible this is how the average normie sees their argument. Marginal at best differences that you don't even notice unless you spending more time counting frames than playing the game

RR on RTX50 is like RT on RTX20. That's it.

I just tested it in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora since that's the only game I have installed at the moment that supports ray reconstruction and I used Nvidia Profile Inspector to force the latest preset F for RR (even if it says unused that's the one) and it's so much sharper now!

Cool. Aslong as software tricks like these don’t dictate the cost of a physical graphics card

The one listed as DLSS 4.5 looks so much worse. wtf do you mean "improves"?

Neural reconstruction's eating real-time graphics. Cleaner images are nice, but I'm tracking the latency cost. We're trading raw compute for per-frame inference.

For the ai stuff thats probably just the usual ai they mention in upscaling, not generative or llm What im curious about is the performance cost, is it small? Is it big?
