Today in Eastleigh, we responded to numerous complaints from residents regarding a developer who was illegally drilling a borehole on a public road pavement. The activity was not only unauthorized, but it also resulted in significant spillage of waste water onto the road, severely inconveniencing road users and causing damage to the surface. Worse still, the developer had completely blocked the drainage systems, further compounding the problem especially with the rains approaching. As a result we arrested the site supervisor and will be charged accordingly. We remain committed to protecting public infrastructure and ensuring that all development activities are carried out in accordance with the law.

This is the junction of 1st Parklands Avenue and Masari Road. All buildings on the left of the road from Mpaka Road to Limuru Road have been erected on the banks of a river. The road behind was washed away after the river reclaimed its course. The developers should finance the construction of the entire 1st Parklands Avenue to standard accommodating the developments, build a stronger canal, storm water drainage and pedestrian walkways.

The contractor has also taken the initiative to desilt the drainage system, which demonstrates their commitment to ensuring a long-lasting and sustainable road infrastructure. It is worth noting that the rehabilitation efforts extend beyond Cemetry Road, with a total of nine roads currently undergoing partial and comprehensive rehabilitation. All the roads are being handled by reputable companies, including CCECC, Craneburg, and MCC. Regardless of the weather conditions, we remain dedicated to the task of rebuilding Aba for the benefit of our people.
