We open-source Action Images — a new representation that translates 7-DoF robot actions into interpretable images. Diffusion has shown great promise for generating robot **actions**, can it act as a **world model** to generate the future conditioned on actions? In our work led by han qi Haocheng Yin and in collaboration with Yilun Du, we show a **controllable** action-conditioned video diffusion model can produce photorealistic and (near) physics-accurate future predictions. Robots might learn better from video than from language! 📼 Most Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models learn what to do from text, but still struggle with how things move in the real world. That makes them data-hungry and slow to train. mimic video takes a different route. Instead of grounding robot control in text, it grounds it in video, using large pre-trained video models that already capture physical motion and dynamics. The idea is straightforward: let the video model handle “what will happen next,” and let a smaller control model focus only on turning that visual plan into robot actions. The result is big gains in practice. Robots trained this way need 10× less data, converge twice as fast, and perform better on both simulated benchmarks and real bimanual manipulation tasks. Excited to announce GR00T N1, the world’s first open foundation model for humanoid robots! We are on a mission to democratize Physical AI. Meet VLA-JEPA, the first world model policy in LeRobot 🌍 Most VLAs just learn observation → action. VLA-JEPA also learns action-relevant dynamics: during training, a JEPA world model has to predict upcoming frames in latent space from the model's own actions. Then, at inference, the world model disappears entirely, leaving a standard, fast VLA: Qwen backbone, action head, nothing extra. In our demo it was fine-tuned on just 13 examples and ran in real time on an NVIDIA DGX Spark. On a consumer RTX 3080, it hits 10Hz using under 6GB of VRAM. World-model supervision during training, zero extra cost at inference. That's the whole trick.

Breaking news: Cosmos 3 is here. They are attempting to do something completely new 🤯 Why is Physical AI much harder than building a chatbot? Understanding the world is not enough, robots need to predict it and act inside it. That's the idea behind NVIDIA Cosmos 3: → Reasoning model understands what's happening from video, images, text, and actions. → World model generates future states of the environment. → Action model generates the actions needed to achieve a goal. Previous systems often stitched these capabilities together using separate models. Cosmos 3 combines them into a single architecture with two components: ▪️ Reasoner Tower Analyzes observations and builds an understanding of objects, motion, interactions, and physical context. ▪️ Generator Tower Uses that understanding to generate future videos and action sequences that obey physical constraints. So Cosmos 3 moves from: Perception → Model A Prediction → Model B Actions → Model C to: Perception + Prediction + Actions → One unified system. The goal is to make robots, autonomous vehicles, and smart environments better at answering three questions: 1. What is happening? 2. What will happen next? 3. What should I do? We trained a humanoid with 22-DoF dexterous hands to assemble model cars, operate syringes, sort poker cards, fold/roll shirts, all learned primarily from 20,000+ hours of egocentric human video with no robot in the loop. Humans are the most scalable embodiment on the planet. We discovered a near-perfect log-linear scaling law (R² = 0.998) between human video volume and action prediction loss, and this loss directly predicts real-robot success rate. Humanoid robots will be the end game, because they are the practical form factor with minimal embodiment gap from humans. Call it the Bitter Lesson of robot hardware: the kinematic similarity lets us simply retarget human finger motion onto dexterous robot hand joints. No learned embeddings, no fancy transfer algorithms needed. Relative wrist motion + retargeted 22-DoF finger actions serve as a unified action space that carries through from pre-training to robot execution. Our recipe is called "EgoScale": - Pre-train GR00T N1.5 on 20K hours of human video, mid-train with only 4 hours (!) of robot play data with Sharpa hands. 54% gains over training from scratch across 5 highly dexterous tasks. - Most surprising result: a *single* teleop demo is sufficient to learn a never-before-seen task. Our recipe enables extreme data efficiency. - Although we pre-train in 22-DoF hand joint space, the policy transfers to a Unitree G1 with 7-DoF tri-finger hands. 30%+ gains over training on G1 data alone. If you want a vision encoder for dexterous manipulation, what should be the most important part to model? 🤔 Current standard models like CLIP, SigLIP, and DINOv2 have an incredible grasp of semantics and spatial details. But they lack the action-centric structure needed for downstream visuomotor control. But collecting annotated robotic trajectories at scale is SUPER expensive and largely unrealistic. So, how do we bridge this gap? If you want a vision encoder for dexterous manipulation, what should be the most important part to model? 🤔 Current standard models like CLIP, SigLIP, and DINOv2 have an incredible grasp of semantics and spatial details. But they lack the action-centric structure needed for downstream visuomotor control. But collecting annotated robotic trajectories at scale is SUPER expensive and largely unrealistic.
