Robotaxi Cybercab with a driver collecting data doing unprotected left-hand turns in my neighborhood. Practice makes perfect, and this one looked pretty good with a pronounced question mark maneuver into the center median. Keep up the great work!

@robotaxi I could be wrong, but looks manually driven in my experience FSD signals right as soon as it enters the middle area

@robotaxi Yes, I tailed this one (he is an unmistakeable ADAS Operator I have seen before), very likely he is data collecting through manual driving. On my first pass he saw me tailing him, he turned right off of a left blinker. I was busted.

@robotaxi They know me .. its fun to play with them. They are collecting the data we need to get this all working1

@robotaxi Cybercab should have a lot less trouble learning to handle such maneuvers compared to other Teslas given its compact dimensions. Whole different ballgame with Cybertruck lol

@robotaxi yes it is.

@robotaxi I thought we're passed the point of training specific turns. Seems like we're still a long road away ftom "drop a robotaxi anywhere and it'll work". Very discouraging

@robotaxi Every vehicle seems to need its own data set.

@robotaxi How many years has Tesla been testing that one uprotected left turn?

@robotaxi They are adding data not testing here.

@robotaxi I love FSD, but the "question mark" wouldn't be needed with better camera placement. I can't believe that HW4 didn't put cameras in obviously better places.

@robotaxi Actually, the question mark is a maneuver needed to "fit" into the median. Cybercab doesn't need it like the Cybertruck on my street, but the manuever is important to not leave the rear of the vehicle sticking into traffic.

@robotaxi Those are the scariest intersections! I always prefer the car turns right and then a u turn down the road.

@robotaxi Shouldn’t it have its right turn signal on when in the median?

@robotaxi Why is the left indicator on when in the centre median when the vehicle is turn right. If the vehicle was perpendicular to traffic the left indicator would make sense. Who the is indicator for?

@robotaxi Why is the left signal on while waiting in the median?

@robotaxi The question mark can block left turns; but I’m more worried about the turning wheels slightly waiting for traffic - my cars do that a lot. If I’m rear ended the car gets pushed into oncoming traffic

@robotaxi Needs to change blinkers once in the median but other than that these wacky turns are clearly solved

@robotaxi That is a tricky move. To pull that off says something. Florida is difficult because of the u-turns, meaning more chaos theming to know where everyone is trying to get. No idea where that was.

@robotaxi Love seeing these FSD tests in action. Those unprotected lefts are no joke, and the question mark move into the median is exactly the kind of nuance that makes or breaks smooth self driving. Excited to see how fast this keeps improving.

@robotaxi Wonder when we’ll see a fully loaded Tesla SEMI doing these turns?👀

@robotaxi Kind of sad that they have to relearn everything for each new car platform. Wouldn’t that also mean that all the edge cases that were learned for the model Y would have to be relearned for the Cyber Cab?

@robotaxi How do you report issues now? I have several repeatable issues where it jerks left and right on an off ramp and gets confused on a 2 way road to 1 way road transition and when you leave the destination it tries to drive the wrong way! Clicking Other seems w/ no context is it?

@robotaxi I think they purposely come in at the angle so the side repeater camera and rear camera can both see the oncoming traffic so the FSD computer can make a better decisions.

I wish they applied the left turn knowledge fleet wide. My Tesla is the cautious driver. A regular left turn where there is an entire lane just for people to pull half across the turn. My car will not go partway, it will wait for all traffic both directions to be clear before it will go. Seems this behavior for chucks left turn is for chuck only.

@robotaxi I can't lie, I'm a little disappointed. Really? They're STILL testing stuff/collecting data. Either way, it's not a positive in my honest opinion.

@robotaxi This is much needed in South West Coast of Florida (Sarasota to Naples). Those ridiculously outdated designed intersections where an 80yo driver is somehow supposed to make a left turn into oncoming 60mph traffic on the Tamiami Trail.
