Robotics has a distribution problem. Today, Ultra is announcing $62M in funding to solve it, including a $50M Series A led by Framework Ventures. We believe that deployment is the bottleneck in robotics. It’s relatively easy to make a robot look impressive in a controlled environment. It’s much harder... show more

We spent the last two and a half years deploying our robots into the field with real customers, doing whatever we needed to make them useful in the real world. The warehouse floor was our training environment and our test bench.

Now, our robots are running in warehouses across America, doing valuable work for customers every day. Ultra’s mission is to build the world’s most useful and deployable robots. And we’re just getting started.

Thank you to our investors: @hiFramework, who led our Series A, along with @ycombinator, @Wing_VC, @M13Company, @NextViewVC, and others. We also want to thank the customers who bet on us early: @manifest_eco, Highline Commerce, and @ShipsaLot.

And finally, thank you to @jeffjohnroberts and @FortuneMagazine for helping us tell our story. Read the full article: [

@hiFramework congrats! this was my first thought:

@hiFramework Ultraception!

@hiFramework Let’s go!

@hiFramework 🦾🦾!

@hiFramework congrats! @JonMSchwartz I'm curious, do you see yourselves training your own foundation models over time, or focusing on adapting/deploying PI’s models?

@hiFramework congrats

@hiFramework Thank you Aaliya!

@hiFramework Solving deployment is where robotics finally scales

@hiFramework 📈🦾

@hiFramework Massive. Solving deployment is what will make robotics real.

@hiFramework We agree!

@hiFramework Congrats on the funding Focusing on real world deployment is exactly right.

@hiFramework Thanks Sheral, real world deployment is the way!

@hiFramework Congrats 🦾

@hiFramework Thank you Samy 🦾

@hiFramework congrats on the raise, MEGA 👏

@hiFramework Much appreciated! 🦾

@hiFramework Congratulations. Introducing robots into the workplace is a challenge in itself ensuring their day to day operation is what proves complex.

@hiFramework It's certainly a challenge but we think it's the best way to understand what our customers truly need

@hiFramework Strong insight on scaling real world robotics

@hiFramework Real world robotics > demos

@hiFramework Robotics needs to move from isolated successes to repeatable operations. The companies that solve deployment at scale could unlock far more value than better demos alone.

@hiFramework This! Exactly what we're focused on

@hiFramework Real-world robotics needs repeatable installation, maintenance, uptime, exception handling and trust from the people working alongside it. Solving those operational challenges is how physical AI becomes scalable infrastructure.

@hiFramework Exactly! Trust is essential to scaling

@hiFramework Congratulations 🎉 We’d love to help produce data for you

@hiFramework Per the company, the $50M Series A is the bulk of a $62M raise. Ultra says it spent the past two and a half years deploying robots with real customers, and that a warehouse floor served as its training environment and test bench.

@hiFramework

@hiFramework Congrats!
