Kevin Durant and his fans told me his offensive game has no weaknesses… Let’s go see what Kobe said about Durant on ESPN Detail… 8 years ago Kobe gave the blueprint on how to guard him and we witnessed a 6’6” Stephen Castle lock him up recently. Two main weaknesses that haven’t changed. 1. Not enough leg strength to keep his position, can be often pushed around by a physical defender. 2. Ability to pass when doubled, needed to become a better passer. Was too selfish with the ball.

AJ Dybantsa averages 23.4 True Shooting Attempts per game. Kansas held him to 16. Self implemented a tremendous defensive game plan. The Jayhawks kept size, length, and athleticism on him at all times with Budinga + Tiller. They sent earlier help on his drives, late help on his mid-post ISOs, and flat-out doubled him at times. They forced the ball out of his hands, and he got it to his teammates — though it was a hair too late at times. But what stood out to me, and what has stood out to me against tougher teams with better athletes, is that Dybansta struggles a bit to create separation/clean looks vs. players of similar size and athleticism. He also picks his dribble up far too often and it leads him to settle for tough 2s, which teams will live with. He needs to either improve his handle, improve his three-point shot, or put on weight. Maybe all three.

NEWS: Iowa transfer 6’7” wing Seydou Traore tells me these schools have been involved recently: Memphis Kansas State Villanova UNLV Georgetown LSU West Virginia Traore is a really bouncy wing that is tough around the rim (66% FG) and is a good, natural cutter. Good lateral athleticism / strength combination that allows him to guard the 3-4 really effectively. Still coming into his shot, but looked more comfortable last year. Like the physical tools a lot, so upside is definitely there. Averaged 5.9 PTS and 3 REB on 44/27/64 shooting splits in 17 minutes per game last season at Iowa. In the season prior at Manhattan, Traore put up 11.8 PTS and 8.2 REB on 43/26/80 shooting splits in 32 minutes per game. Repped by WEAVE
