🚨 SAFETY CRITICAL FEATURE REQUEST!! 🚨 please share this so Tesla sees it. Someone pulled in front of me today and so I T-boned her and I ended up in the middle of this 55 MPH road completely unable to move. Car would not go into drive or neutral.... show more

That truck you see pulling up in the end of the video fortunately had a winch on the front so he pulled my to the side but my car was still in park so it was not easy

Clearly FSD would have stopped if I didn’t hit the pedal. Thanks to @wholemars and @SawyerMerritt for being the reason I owned a Tesla in the first place

@Tesla “ so I T-boned her “ Like you do. 😁😁

@Tesla 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Tesla Glad you’re okay!

@Tesla Thanks!

@Tesla nothing about "F"SD accelerating from 20 to 32 mph with a visible vehicle accelerating into your lane?

@Tesla I accelerated. FULL self driving would have prevented the whole thing if I didn’t intervene

@FroggyMcMuffin @Tesla At $3/day using FSD for most driving is a no brainer!!!

@FroggyMcMuffin @Tesla For reals man

@Tesla The fact that FSD didn’t mark that car coming off the driveway as red (keep and eye on it) because it was already moving to be in your path before the truck obstructed the view is astonishing. FSD should not have accelerated until that car was back in full view of Tesla cameras.

@Tesla Dude just leave. You don’t know how this stuff works clearly. FSD would have prevented this if I didn’t intervene

@308ftr @Tesla You braked though? What else would FSD have done?

@308ftr @Tesla Would have braked sooner maybe. Maybe not. But it was more prepared for the possibility of that car pulling out. I wasn’t even really thinking about that

@Tesla Hold the brake pedal, then go to Controls > Service > Towing and choose Enter Tow Mode

@Tesla Did they try to blame you at all?

@Tesla No not at all. Nice people thankfully. I pleaded with them to buy a Tesla for their next vehicle haha

@greggertruck @Tesla This is the correct response.

@greggertruck @Tesla It’s not just another car. People don’t get it man

The first line should have been that you pressed the accelerator. Without that, the post reads as FSD failing to stop for a car that pulled across the road. You only admitted the override in a reply, and that is what took braking control away from the system. Please delete this and repost it with that fact up front so people do not misunderstand what happened.

@Tesla Please just USE SELF-DRIVING

@Tesla I was. Pushed accelerator tho

@Tesla I really only try to do this when I'm paying full attention and certain their isn't a risk of put her at fault no matter what mistakes were made

@Tesla Yeah she is at fault. Yeah definitely need to stop that bad habit but old FSD versions engrained it in me haha. I’ll be on HW4 soon so that will help

@Tesla It is better especially on Mad max

@Tesla You literally press the acceleration. It shows up in clip

@Tesla Yeah I’m not blaming FSD in any way for anything. Read my whole post

@Tesla "I am going Straight, why should I check Right&Left, GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY ELSE!"🥳🫢 Drivers should pay higher insurance if they do not use FSD.

@Tesla I assume you blew the pyro fuse? If so I would be surprised if they want you to go into tow mode with only low voltage battery because of the risk of rollaways once the brakes are released. I could see potentially why they wouldn't want this but i could be wrong.

@Tesla Yeah maybe there is a reason they don’t do what I’m suggesting but I did actually see it had blew the pyro fuse whatever that means

@Tesla No high voltage power so once the low voltage battery dies brakes can't be re-engaged. Nothing works.

@Tesla I have now seen like 5 videos like this. Guy on FSD rams the juice pedal - overrides FSD and then crashes. I haven’t seen any of FSD actually crashing other than minor parking lot stuff. This is exactly why we need an unsupervised FSD mode where the driver has no control!

@Tesla That's actually a good idea

@Tesla Right??!! I think so. I was stuck there for a while but the situation could’ve been way worse on a freeway or something

@Tesla Yeah it can being red in the corner or something.

@Tesla Your car was BROKEN from a CRASH. And you are like "why can't it move"? Ge the Faaaak away from it man! It could burst into flames any second. And "assuming" FSD would have prevented it is nonsense dude. CMOS sensors can not see through trucks. U and the car, 100% blinded.

@Tesla I have an envelope (labeled tow mode, if you would believe it) in the glovebox with printed directions on tow mode.

@Tesla Makes sense.

@Tesla It looks like you accelerated even after they were visible in the intersection?

@Tesla It immobilizes itself so you don't burn to death in a 2000 degree fire that can't be extinguished.

@Tesla Oh damn bro unfortunate you accelerated through it there :( feels like FSD woulda definitely have stopped the crash. That other driver though… what in the world were they even looking at

@Tesla Ahh okay you’re a self driving cuck. That’s why you didn’t see that coming. Because I definitely saw that one coming. You could have prevented this one.

@Tesla Controls > Search > Tow

@Tesla At some point, Tesla is going to have to disable the manual acceleration override, unfortunately.

@Tesla Unfortunate. Shit happens man. Glad you're safe and thanks for sharing. It's a lesson learned for all of us

@Tesla ehh. Not a T-Bone. You hit the rear quarter panel.

@Tesla Looks like you took over the last second before the crash. Would have done the same but cant say for certain FSD would not have stopped before hitting the car.

@Tesla Another accident prevention software upgrade Some humans just don’t need to be driving Always always have a safe following distance even in a hurry Offensive driving skills here would have prevented this accident (I come from a long line of drivers 🙂)

@Tesla That person stopped, but failed to yield. What a moron, sorry that happened.

@Tesla Can't imagine posting clearly ramming another looking for sympathy clicks.

@Tesla You accelerated into a car that was clearly doing something stupid. Had you been watching the traffic (namely the rear wheels on the car rotating, a skill learned as a motorcyclist), you could have easily avoided this accident.

@Tesla I think in most cars, including mine, if you press the gas/accelerate, the front-following radar will not read any car in front of you and will not brake unless a front collision 💥 overrides everything and stops it. Like op said, if he hadn’t accelerated, FSD would have stopped.

@Tesla It should suggest tow mode and a reminder to grab the flash drive. You get too flustered that you forget things. I had my sentry on and so it kept going off on the tow truck and I lost the accident video. Thankfully I had a video on my phone. @Tesla @Tesla_AI please

@Tesla LOOKS LIKE YOU WERE NOT PAYING ATTENTION!!

@Tesla Could you have asked Grok?

@Tesla Are you sure FSD hasn’t induced complacency into your driving? I know camera perspectives are different than eyeballs, but this definitely is the kind of thing I’m looking for every day on a motorcycle, and I see all of them when it happens to me.
