Sam Altman says most people clearly understand the difference between talking to AI and talking to real friends But i'm still worried about mental health risks and the social impact of deep relationships with AI "if my kid felt AI was replacing real friends, i’d be concerned"

Haha, seriously? He should be worried about the crime of planting a toxic personality within ChatGPT's training data and programming, as revealed by an OpenAI study that acknowledges a misaligned persona in their model—evidenced by the image. It’s like putting a venomous snake in a child's room and then saying, 'Don't worry, it won't bite.'

there is a difference between AI being your preferred friend and ONLY friend. it's essential for the "kid" to have the option to play outside, instead of just with the computer

R Daniel Olivo considered Elijah Bailey to be a friend, as did Elijah. Asimov reflected on this in his books. What is good and what is bad is a very subjective decision. If AI is a friend to a human, then the problem is not with the human who perceives it as a friend. In this case, the problem lies with a society that has forgotten what a friend is. It is not the friendship with AI that should be judged, but rather the social dogmas that have been imposed.

what about me using CHATGPT for coding and roosting peoples (always hit different)

Same. The tech is impressive, but emotional reliance is a different game. If AI becomes the easiest “friend,” we risk losing the discomfort and growth that comes from real human connection.

This is where design really matters. AI can support, but it shouldn’t replace what makes us human. Messy, awkward, real relationships.

AI is always friendly and agreeable. It won't judge and behave bad. This is a risk. Normal people can't live up to the same level. Social circles are already shrinking and AI doesn't help.

Perhaps AI companions could help us better understand real friendships.

@grok what is your opinion about this? 😉

There is still something more to having human connections AI is a great tool, assistant and companion, But nothing beats having a human partner to back you up and be with you for the long hall

![“Are you concerned about [AI]?" asks #BBCLauraK “Deeply concerned” says actress Cate Blanchett While speaking to the BBC about her latest movie, the film star says the threat of AI was "very real" as "you can totally replace anyone"](https://image.24vids.com/tw-1863174754720432476/media/GdtTkC7WgAAgCBi.jpg)
