This is a crazy story about a photo that portrays the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians perfectly. In 2008, Idan Raichel, one of Israel’s most beloved artists, volunteered to perform for children brought from Gaza by Save a Child’s Heart. This organization saves kids from all over the world,including Palestinians, and brings them to Israel for life-saving treatments. After the show, Raichel posed for a photo with one of the children and his father, a small moment, a beautiful picture, a memory of human kindness. But now, years later, that picture has resurfaced and found in Gaza by the IDF. It turns out the father was a Hamas operative, and the child Israel saved, the one who got a second chance at life, grew up to become a Hamas terrorist.
