The southern forces that were previously based there have essentially pledged loyalty to the Southern Forces Command of the Southern Transitional Council المجلس الانتقالي الجنوبي (STC). Videos now confirm that UAE-backed المجلس الانتقالي الجنوبي have taken control of the 23rd Mechanized Brigade and the Al-‘Abr region in western Hadramawt. Al-‘Abr is a critical choke point for all traffic moving from the N5 Hadramawt–Mahra highway toward Ma’rib, as well as for movement from the Al-Wadi‘a Saudi border crossing into the rest of Yemen. It also serves as a transit hub for northern Shabwa, giving it exceptional strategic value. One of the circulating videos shows STC-aligned soldiers in Al-‘Abr dancing and celebrating after securing the area. A second and third video appears to show wounded soldiers from the 23rd Mechanized Brigade being held as prisoners of war. With the Southern Transitional Council now in control of Al-‘Abr, it effectively commands all supply routes, logistical corridors, and ground lines of communication leading to the Yemen National Army’s Third, Sixth, and Seventh Military Regional Commands based in Ma’rib. The loss of Al-‘Abr removes the final major access point linking these commands to the east and South Yemen.

I held a meeting of the Military Cabinet in Kharkiv. There were reports by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov. We discussed the situation at the front and the developments in main directions—Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy—as well as the course of the operation in the Kursk region. We also prepared for the meeting between the Ukrainian and American delegations, that will take place tomorrow in Saudi Arabia.

Supporters of the UAE-backed STC circulated footage from Al-Dhale’-Lahij governorate(s) showing what they claim are National Shield Forces قوات درع الوطن deployed near al-Anad air base preventing them from entering Aden to attend a rally called by the ousted STC leader عيدروس الزُبيدي - Aidaros Alzubidi. Last week, several senior members of the STC based in Riyadh announced the dissolution of the STC. However, factions operating in Aden, Mukalla, Socotra, Abu Dhabi, and abroad have rejected that announcement and continue to operate under the STC banner. While the STC enjoys visible support in Al-Dhale’ governorate, it faces staunch popular opposition in the central and eastern southern governorates. Al-Zubaidi has been formally accused by the internationally recognized Yemeni government of leading a rebellion and committing acts of treason, underscoring the contested legitimacy surrounding UAE-backed political actors in South Yemen. He lauded the role of premier institutions like NDU in nurturing future military-civil leadership capable of mitigating hybrid, conventional and sub-conventional threats with foresight, confidence and resolve. The Field Marshal also highlighted that Pakistan Armed Forces were recalibrating their employment and development strategies in line with the evolved character of warfare. The Field Marshal remarked that the Armed Forces remain fully cognizant of state-sponsored attempts by hostile intelligence agencies to destabilize Pakistan. Efforts of such proxies and networks, who operate under the tutelage of hostile intelligence agencies are futile and will not be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s internal security and economic prosperity. He reiterated that terrorism emanating from across the borders will be crushed with full might of the state. The Armed Forces, with the support of the nation, will ensure that terrorist sanctuaries of these proxies along with their facilitators are completely dismantled. The Field Marshal remarked that wars are not won through media rhetoric or political sloganeering but through faith, unity and discipline. The participants paid rich tribute to the Shuhada, who have laid their lives in defence of the motherland while fighting the menace of terrorism. Forum acknowledged the successful Counter Terrorism and Intelligence Based Operations in the country by Security Forces, especially valiant response given by the troops in the Muslim Bagh attack, and paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices made by the brave sons of the soil. The forum was briefed in detail about the prevailing internal and external security environment. Forum took comprehensive stock of the Law and Order situation in the past few days that was created to achieve vested political interests. The forum was briefed that a well coordinated arson plan involving desecration of Shuhada pictures, monuments, burning down of historical buildings and vandalism of military installations was executed to malign the institution and provoke it towards giving an impulsive reaction. Forum condemned, in the strongest possible sense, these politically motivated and instigated incidents against military installations and public / private properties. The Commanders also communicated the anguish and sentiments of the rank and file of the Army on these unfortunate and unacceptable incidents. Based on the irrefutable evidence collected so far, Armed Forces are well aware of the planners, instigators, abettors and perpetrators of these attacks and attempts to create distortions in this regard are absolutely futile. The Forum expressed firm resolve that those involved in these heinous crimes against the military installations and personal/ equipment will be brought to justice through trials under relevant laws of Pakistan including Pakistan Army Act and Official Secret Act. The Forum resolved that restraint will no longer be exercised against perpetrators, spoilers and violators who attack military installations and setups under any circumstances. Israel has confirmed its intention to occupy southern Lebanon. 🇮🇱🇱🇧 The Defence Minister confirmed the armed forces’ intention to occupy the entire region south of the Litani River until the area is safe for the population and free of Hezbollah’s presence. Over the last few days, the Israeli air force has bombed the main evacuation bridges used by the Lebanese population to flee northwards, whilst IDF ground forces continue to build up along the border. Furthermore, the military spokesperson, Brigadier General Effie Defrin, acknowledged that the IDF needs around 15,000 additional soldiers to fulfil current missions. Moreover, this does not take into account the additional reserve troops that will be required to sustain a long-term occupation on the ground, nor the cost this may entail, given the history of previous Israeli occupations of Lebanese territory.
