Researchers at Stanford found that if you pull on that square instead of heating it, it breaks in the opposite order from what everyone expected. The carbon bond goes first, then the oxygen. It still emits light, just by a route nobody knew was there. That opens the door to materials that glow to warn you before they crack. If you think that some Americans are extreme when it comes to trying to protect our planet then you really need to travel to Europe. With the world recently seeing some of the hottest days on record perhaps they are onto something. I’m of the mindset that humans are too selfish to make major change and we will likely have to rely on new AI-driven technologies to figure out wide scale carbon capture. Thoughts?

By visualizing, what is normally sequenced audio patterns, we can derive much more insights. Here we see Paganini in a visual form that can than be described and transcribed into a World Model. two weeks in Shenzhen and it’s an been eye-opening experience im here for a month with MIT SCALE and the speed of hardware production is easily 10× faster than sf. from product concept to production, everything is streamlined within a single building. Nearly every component you could need is available immediately thru Taobao(e bay of China) or HQB and there are 24/7 makerspaces equipped to build anything from micrometer-scale PCBs to full assembly-line robots. What’s striking is that Shenzhen already has much of the hardware and robotics that startups in sf are still trying to build except these systems have been deployed and operating for years. The manufacturing capability, supply chain depth, and technical execution here are world-class. That said, one gap keeps surfacing: brand design, storytelling, and cohesive user experience. Software polish, UX consistency, and attention to detail often feel secondary. Take this with a grain of salt, but it increasingly feels like the company that pairs Shenzhen-level hardware velocity with strong design sensibility and UX-first thinking will dominate the market.

There is a room in Málaga that was built to be the closest thing on earth to standing inside heaven. It is called the camarín of the Virgin of Victory, and it is hidden at the top of a tower inside the Santuario de la Victoria. To reach it, you climb and the ascent is the entire point... The building you are climbing through was completed in 1700, and it was designed as a single argument made in stone. At the bottom lies a crypt: a black chamber crowded with white plaster skeletons, a meditation on death and the brevity of life. From there a staircase rises, and as you climb it the light grows stronger and the imagery changes from bones to saints. The architects of the time understood this ascent as the soul's own journey, the dark crypt as the stage of penitence, the staircase as the stage of spiritual progress, and the room at the very top as the final stage: the union of the soul with the divine. That room at the top is the camarín, and its dome is one of the most extraordinary interiors in Spain... Every surface is covered in white and gold plasterwork. There is no empty space anywhere. The Baroque called this horror vacui, the horror of the void: the conviction that a space meant to represent heaven should not contain a single bare patch of stone. Out of that plasterwork emerge angels, flowers, birds, and mirrors. The mirrors are not decoration alone. They catch the light pouring in through the windows of the drum and throw it around the chamber, so that the gold seems to move and the whole room appears to shimmer and breathe. This wonder was built by people who believed that if you wanted to show a human being what heaven might feel like, you did not describe it to them. Wave after wave after unending wave of businesses, traders, shops, hawkers, merchants, dealers, artisans, engineers, analysts, doctors, engineers, bankers, financiers, realtors, accountants etc. The list is endless. The scale of precision engineering that I witnessed on one of tours. It’s not just low-vector labour work that is at scale. It’s the complex tooling & engineering industries that are also at scale. (Obviously can’t share that material publicly). Just yesterday, during my book signing, I spoke to more engineers, masters students, analysts, cyber security professionals & developers in a single sitting than I have ever had in the past. Ever! Read that again. As my team & I leave for DxB next I am left wondering, “will Africa ever catch up?” I came here thinking we have a chance. I leave thinking we haven’t even arrived at the stadium where the race is happening yet.
