I’m at the Lincoln Reflecting Pool. It’s less green today. The Park Service dumped hydrogen peroxide in one edge. The NanoBubbles killed the algae. Watch for details!

Scott MacFarlane reports from Trump’s Reflecting Pool renovation, which remains a mess. There’s no date certain for when it will be fixed, and the only people coming by are “rubberneckers” who want to see “the scope and size of the damage.”

MacFarlane: Welcome back to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which has retained its very swampy, green-like color. It’s still fenced off. It’s still inaccessible. It’s still not in its best shape. It is reflecting again, but it’s almost like it’s quarantined in its green-like state.

After the Trump administration splashed out almost $15 million trying to turn the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool an "American flag blue" - huge chunks of blue paint have begun peeling off and floating to the surface. Shortly after the pool was refurbished, algae returned - turning the water green. Workers were told to dump hydrogen peroxide into the pool, dislodging sections of blue sealant in the process.

LINCOLN MEMORIAL REFLECTING POOL ALGAE CLEANUP: Crews are working today to clean the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool after algae growth turned the water green. Experts say the pool is prone to algae blooms due to stagnant water and heavy sun exposure. The pool was recently repainted "American flag blue" as part of President Trump's DC renovation project, and the darker color could be contributing to the growth. Paint has also recently been seen peeling from the pool floor.
