Scott MacFarlane reports from Trump’s Reflecting Pool renovation, which remains a mess. There’s no date certain for when it will be fixed, and the only people coming by are “rubberneckers” who want to see “the scope and size of the damage.”

the contractor admitted it was their fault but our 6 year old president is still blaming an innocent man. That man needs to personally sue Pirro, Blanche and Trump for ungodly amounts of money.

The “reflecting” part is still working … showing the regime’s cavalier corruption and utter incompetence.

A major renovation with no firm completion date and a site drawing crowds just to see the damage is hardly a great look. Taxpayers deserve transparency on the timeline and cost.

Does Trump actually destroy everything he attempts to do? Sure doing a job on the American people. Some are now beyond saving.

@Acyn Trump doesn’t care anymore; he’s moved on. He wanted it done for the 250th anniversary as part of his legacy. He’ll never admit he’s to blame.

Scott MacFarlane reports on Trump’s $1.776 billion slush fund running into major resistance in the Senate. Even Trump allies are uncomfortable with taxpayer money potentially going to January 6 defendants and cop beaters. MacFarlane also reports growing concern on Capitol Hill that Trump may be using the controversy to distract from deeper issues involving his taxes and potential corruption exposure.

Trump's felony criminal case against former Olympian David Hearn could soon collapse. In a new 75-page filing, Hearn's attorneys argue the Trump administration destroyed key evidence by draining and altering the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool after the defense requested it be preserved. The defense says prosecutors may have sabotaged their own case—and now they're asking the court to throw it out. Just filed by Scott MacFarlane.

MacFarlane: What the historic preservationists are arguing is that the Reflecting Pool is supposed to be the color it’s always been. It’s supposed to be what they call achromatic—no color. Because when it doesn’t have color, it does a better job of reflecting…

MacFarlane: "Watch out for a couple other vanity projects that are larger in scope and size than even the Reflecting Pool. The monumental arch is going to overshadow the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. It's going to block out the sun of those two places if and when it's built. In September, I'm told, the Trump-sycophantic administrators are going to greenlight that project."

ALERT: Scott MacFarlane reports there are now THREE federal lawsuits challenging Trump’s $1.776 billion slush fund. One lawsuit calls the fund a “jaw-dropping” act of corruption and self-dealing. Another was filed by former Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn and D.C. officer Daniel Hodges, who argue taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize January 6 rioters who still threaten law enforcement officers. A third federal suit argues the fund amounts to political favoritism benefiting supporters of one political figure over others. MacFarlane says the legal fights may now move faster than Congress itself. “This thing stinks,” he said. “It’s the political version of a sulfur mine.”

President Trump announced Wednesday that crews will begin refilling the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool after spending over a month resurfacing it with the color "American flag blue.” Trump pulled out a poster in the Oval Office comparing the size of the reflecting pool to that of some of the largest buildings in the U.S., and told reporters that the roughly $1.5 million renovation will "last for 50 to 100 years."

.Secretary Doug Burgum: “With the industrial liner that’s gone in, the Reflecting Pool is not leaking. New technology that hasn’t existed before—nanobubblers taking care of the algae… The Reflecting Pool has been a big success, and of the 340 million people in this country that are celebrating 250, we did have a few vandals, but all of that’s going to be repairable, and that will all be fixed in the coming weeks.”

Scott MacFarlane reports that Republican resistance is growing against Trump’s $1.776 billion slush fund. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick says he is working to kill the proposal through both a formal letter to the Justice Department and possible legislation. Other Republicans, including Don Bacon, David Schweikert, and Mike Rounds, have publicly raised questions about the legality and structure of the fund, while Lindsey Graham suggested the Senate would closely examine it if it reaches the floor.

Host: Just 2 weeks after Trump completed his more than $16 million renovation of the Reflecting Pool, he now says it will need to be drained and repaired immediately. This taxpayer funded renovation has been plagued with issues. The company that applied the coating says it identified some areas of the pool that require repairs and confirmed that it will need to be drained.

Tim Snyder: The Republicans are trying to run this midterm on the issue of communism, whereas Trump’s idols are all communists. Whether it’s North Korea, whether it’s China, whether it’s Russia, these are all countries which are run by communist parties or, in the case of Russia, by a guy who was a communist and who looks back fondly on the Soviet Union. These are the people that Trump admires. These are the people to whom we are supposed to feel subordinate.

Epstein survivor Danielle Bensky describes the isolation she experienced and the realization that came from finally seeing the scope of the case: “It’s weirdly vindicating to sit here and see in the files like, ‘Oh no, I’m not crazy. This really happened and it happened to so many people.’” “This became a movement because we didn’t feel isolated anymore and we are stronger together.”

MacFarlane: People who live in DC, count me among them, can't afford the rent. I mean, so you want to spend money on a reflecting pool and on a monumental arch, and on other vanity projects, you may be showing priorities that are misaligned. If you watch the bottom of the screen, you're going to see the DC primary results come in. And the candidate who ran most vehemently against Donald Trump is routing the competition in the primary for the nomination for mayor.

AOC to Scott MacFarlane on reflecting pool/ballroom/memorial arch: Why should this president then try to take a billion dollars more out of our health care and put that toward a ballroom when people are already struggling? It’s just deeply out of touch. I think it’s insulting to everyday people who are trying to get by on an honest day’s work.
