Not really. If you take a look at the pinned video, you'll see why they're very different projects. Also, unsure about the release date. There is a lot of coding, scripts, maps, original music etc. left to do

hey! i recently got into pokemon dev, and i was wondering what do you use to generate black and white graphics? it it a specific engine? do you code the base yourself? i'm only familiar with pokemon essentials

for 2D graphics you can really use any pixel art software! I like aseprite. as for orchestrating the parts, it's all native DS engine functions that tell which part is to be rendered where. of course, basic knowledge abt nds architecture and graphic engines really helps!
