It's not necessarily a category like drones or automotive... People are making nuts and bolts here again. Stuff like that has been offshored for way too long." This is a double unicorn. 1. It’s a successful made in the USA toy 2. It’s 3-D printed 🤯 Why is this so unusual? Despite much hype, there are few commercially successful 3-d printed products, especially ones that are not custom. What’s the reason for this? 3-D printing is expensive. It’s much cheaper to use alternative manufacturing techniques like injection molding. So why’d they do it? It says collect 160+ designs. Each would require an expensive mold. But the other reason is that the parts wiggle and have custom colors. This cannot be done without human assembly if the parts are injection molded. But if they’re printed, you can print them pre-assembled, which is important if you’re going to make the product in the USA. Very innovative product, manufacturing, and presentation!

The idea for the deal started after he got introduced to Patrick on 𝕏. "He was like, 'Oh yeah, I've heard about your company. You guys sound awesome. I'll invest.'" "I was like, 'That sounds amazing. We asked Flo Crivello (Founder Lindy) why dev shops often fail startups: “The reason you hire someone is because they know something you don’t, there’s an information asymmetry. That’s what makes it always possible to cheat.” “If they don’t cheat one way, they’ll cheat another. So your job as a founder is to solve for why someone won’t. Why would they act irrationally?” “That’s why startups are like religions. Mission, culture, and camaraderie are the only safeguards. And that’s what you lose with dev shops.”

✨ Made a new mini feature on Photo AI: [ Grab from 3d model ] So the problem is we're at that stage in time (typical for AI) where image-to-3d models are not good enough but are fun to play with, but we know they'll be good enough in 1-2 years With [ Make 3d model ] you already can turn any Photo AI pic into a 3d model but it still looks hyper clunky and deformed, but it works! One cool idea I had to make that more useful and made now: Let people make a 3d model then change the view of the it with the 3d viewer, then press [ o ] and it grabs a frame of the 3d That image you can then [ Remix ] (img2img), and it becomes a real photo again and that in turn you can then turn into a video again with [ Make video ] So that essentially gives you a fully freeform camera position control to take photos with One thing I need to fix is the background/skybox, I kinda need to take the original photo and remove the person and just get the background for the 3d model viewer, in this case it should be white, but it's a start!

Y Combinator co-founder Paul Graham says he's constantly telling founders that all that matters is growth rate, not the absolute numbers. His rationale is straightforward: mathematically, if your growth rate is high enough, it simply doesn't matter what the absolute numbers are. "And the great thing about focusing on growth rate is you can focus on selling to startups for cheap, instead of having to go and do these big deals with big companies that take a long time and make your product stupider."

I know power wheel chairs get a bad rap - (for good reason) But the Strutt EV1 just released a ton of design files for their exterior mounts and panels so you can 3D print your own mods and accessories. Pretty cool. They are also the least expensive powered chair ive ever seen.... and it also navigates by itself with lidar, with a 20 mile range. This company is awesome:

Currently testing Hunyuan brand new 2.5 model for image to 3D. YUP! It's MAJOR improvement over 2.0, especially with making details look sharper, it can also reconstruct more detail. It also generates PBR materials now and you can automatically rig the character on the website. It's much better than Trellis and Tripo from my testing! Took it into Blender as well to compare Hunyuan 2.5 (on the left) and Hunyuan 2.0 (on the right). I wanted to see the mesh with a solid and material preview. If you're doing 3D printing, these would probably work very well. However...the biggest issue here is still topology which is a complete and utter mess, there's also still issues with texture projection...and the entire model is a single mesh, there needs to be a method to generate the model in parts BUT this tech is certainly improving. As someone that is also a 3D artist, I actually want to see what this tech is capable of generating to output 3D models.
